Hi Emptybox.

The spike was already there, it was put in the tooth to hold the filling on place but remained when the part filing came out.
I was trying to cover it up with the new stuff, but it takes too long to set, and it won't do it really.
The spike was still there this morning, could have removed it with tools i've got, but left it.
It had gone after I had brekkie, so bye spikey.

Went out to New Brighton Prom, very busy, got a fish and chips from a very good place. Fantastic Cod, always is.
Hicky
Ah I see. You already had the spike.

I bought a sat-nav. I decided to go for a mid range one, rather than one with all the bells and whistles. It's still a widescreen one though.
It's the TomTom XL IQ Routes UK & RoI. ÂĢ130 from Halfords.

I had considered the Go 550, which they were doing for ÂĢ200, which came with Bluetooth handsfree calling for your phone, and the TomTom Live service, but I thought that was a bit much, and I don't have a bluetooth phone anyway.

I'll have fun playing around with it anyway. Can always get a better one in the future.
emptybox
Hi Emptybox.

Another nice day here anyway, it seems it an the Mo.

I don't know that TomTom model, they are much the same, why they need so many models I don't know, think it's soft myself.
You can spend some time going through all the menu's, you sure need to as there are loads.
It's worth spending the time, and I have the speech on full as well, as it can get hard to hear when you have music on or people talking.
Hicky
Good morning Hicky and Emptybox.

Hicky..
what a damn nuisance about your tooth, I too have used those temprary filling things, sometimes they can be useful to fill in, if a small piece of tooth goes missing to stop it catching on your tongue, but as you found out,it doesn't always work. Hope the dentist can sort it out for you soon. I have to go to the dentist this Wednesday to sort out by broken tooth with a cap, as it has broken down the side.

Emptybox
yes I am proud of you, making a nice blueberry crumble.   Not only delicious, but full of vitamins they are too. How is the gardening workload going?  I hope you have fun with your new sat nav.

We got back last night, I am shattered, because the 4 days were full on, late nights in pub/partying, then early morning starts, but great fun for all 5 of us.    Our kids came in useful too, they often got asked by the rest of the group to take their  piccies, or to help set up their lappies/phones/cameras.

We had great fun on the bus tour for the day on the Friday. We saw all the sites of Mancehster where they film Corrie shots, the tour guide was very knowledgable and funny. Gave us lots of tales  about the Corrie characters he knows. On the Saturday night we had a party in the hotel, about 50 of us, mainly Canadains who had come over especially, they are mad on Corrie there. A few Ozzies too. Kirk from Corrie came, he sang to us, and had his photo taken with each of us, his father and uncles also came and sang too. Lovely food, and a prize draw, I won a Corrie figurine of Ena Sharples and a T shirt. And Kathy Jones, http://www.corrie.net/profiles...nes_kathy.html  a lady who played Gails friend in the 70's came to the party too. I had a nice chat to Kathy, and had a signed photo of her and Kirk too. And my family all came back with lots of little Canadain souvenirs that people had bought over for us. eg pens, wallets, pins.

We had good weather in Manchester, because it was dry and cool. I loved going down the set of Corrie on the Saturday, the kids took lots of piccies of us outside the Rovers, and the other places there. We also went round a lot of the museums, they were all free, so that was good.

Most of the Canadain people we were with, had flight problmes coming over here, and I know some were due to take off yesterday, but have't been able to. On our journey home yesterday, the train was pakced to bursting all the way back, and a rubbish one too for a 4 hour journey. The seat reservatiosn we were supposed to have hadn't been done, and they moved us from one carraige up to the front so they could split the train, then after we had all moved all our multiple baggages and sat ourselves down, they said we had to get off and change trains. Plus we had had to put our bags down the far end of thet train because there was nowhere to put them. I guess many more people were going by train because of flight problems.

time for me to empty more bags, and do some more washing , then need to go out and get some food in.

Hope you both have a good day.
M
Hi Mollie.

Glad you had a good time anyway.
The weather wasn't bad really.

It sure was a packed tour, but it's great to meet with all those strangers and corrie people.

It was Defo worth going though, it's not as if you do that every week is it, and with all of you enjoying it that's what you want.

I've been a bit busy today, but this Ash Cloud lark is getting to be very annoying, but can't be helped, good job it's not man made eh.
Hicky
Evening.

Sounds like you had great fun Mollie.
That train journey must have been a nightmare though.
Why were there loads of Canadians there?
Is that one of the places you used to live?

Hope this Ash cloud business doesn't affect your flight Hicky.

It was a lovely warm day here so I got plenty done.
Perhaps not as much as usual because I was playing with my sat-nav.
It seems pretty accurate, and took me round the routes that I would have taken anyway.
The psuedo 3D view on the display seems to be quite good. If you were on an unfamiliar road you can see which way the road is going to bend ahead. Specially useful on blind summits and those sort of things, I would think.

I wasn't very impressed with the software though. I installed the application, and it downloaded the latest map OK, but when it came to update some of the other stuff, I kept getting errors, and it took quite a few attempts to get it downloaded and installed.
I see you can pay something like ÂĢ28 a year to get 4 map updates, but I don't think I'll bother with that at the moment. I'll wait and see how accurate the current map is first.
The menu is a bit confusing as you said Hicky.
And the windscreen mount is a bit fiddly as well.

But overall, it seems a good purchase.
emptybox
Hi Emptybox.
It seems that the twitter pics from certain places have time locks and things stopping you transferring pictures to other places and now can't find the original to copy by other means.

It's a lovely day here today, think I'll be going out this afternoon for a meal at this place my O/H has seen, it's got a fantastic menu anyway.

A nice day off for me today, had a good Li-in as well.
Hicky
Good afternoon all
Phheeww I have got through some washing this last 2 days, but it has all dried nicely in the warm sun now.

Emptybox
Glad to hear you think your sat nav is an overall good buy. No excuse now for getting lost.   you are right, you certainly don't want to be putting screw holes in your lovely jag.
There were mainly Canadians at our Corrie do, because they are obsessive corrie fans in Canada, and I came across them, when I lived abroad, and joined foreign forums that followed Corrie. I also met a lot of Ozzies on these forums, but being so far away, only 2 that came to Manchester were from Australia. The Canadians bought souvenirs over for the few Brits, and Ozzie that went. We got a couple of wallets with pics of Canadian flag on, some maple soaps, pens, necklace, badges and necklace. There is a big market over in Canada (far bigger than here) for Corrie sourvenirs. Don't think anyone is interested in them here. In fact I found some Corrie mugs in our local pound shop, so I bought 7 of them to give to my foreign friends. They were thrilled with them.   My mum also did well out of it, because one of my Ozzie friends couldn't get her new trainers into her suitcase, and said she couldn't be bothered with them any  more, so because they were my mum's size I gave them to her.

Hicky...
sounds like they are re-routing any more for the dust cloud, so hopefully it will be ok for your flights, hope so anyway.
Glad you enjoyed a well deserved lie in. Hope you enjoyed your meal out. Where did you go?  Was it local to you? What did you eat?
Is your tooth ok now?

My lad picked up a cold from our weekend away. Quite a few on our weekend away who had flown together had this nasty cold. My lad was vomiting with it this morning, so has stayed in bed all day. I hope it does't go round the rest of the family.

time to tidy up a bit, daugther gone to college.
not much on tv again tonight.
roll on BB time.
M
Hi Mollie and Hicky.

It was a really lovely day here. The best of the year so far. Warm and sunny, but not too hot.

I've got my car booked for a service and MoT tomorrow, so I've got to take it in at 8am. I think they'll either give me a run back, or lend me a courtesy car for the day.

It's funny that the Canadians go mad for Corrie Mollie? But it gave you a good holiday anyway.
Hope your lad recovers quickly, and doesn't pass the bug on.

Hope you enjoyed your meal Hicky.
emptybox
Good Morning Mollie & Emptybox.

Yep, hope the Ash stays away for a while anyway.

Didn't go for that meal in the end, we gave the BBQ unit, the gas one to my lad and then went round for a Barbie.
But we'll certainly be going for that meal, the menu is so good.
It's a Beefeater one.

I see the Dentist Thursday afternoon about my tooth, not sure if he can mend it any more, it's half a filing that has come out but don't think there's any tooth left now.

Hope your car passes it's MOT Emptybox, but the Service should sort most of it out and see if you need to do anything first.

Great washing/drying weather lately, haven't had to turn the heating on either, just left it set to 13deg overnight but don't think it came on.
Hicky
Evening.

Is it this week or next, that you go away Hicky?
Either way, I hope the ash doesn't scupper your plans.

Good luck with the dentist tomorrow. Hope they can do something with your tooth, other than extraction.

It's not been quite as nice here today. Still dry and quite warm, but overcast and sultry. I've turned my heating off for now, but it could easily get cold again.

I'm not quite sure where my car is at the moment.
I took it over at 8am, and then came back home with a mechanic in the passenger seat, then he took it back again.

I came home especially at 4.30pm and rang them up, and the guy said it was ready, and they were just finishing washing it, and somebody would bring it across straight afterwards, and could I run the guy back again. All well and good.
5.30pm came with no sign of anybody, so I rang up only to find they had all gone home.
At 6pm I went in my van, back along the route, just in case there had been an accident. I went all the way to the garage, and it wasn't sitting outside. I can only assume they had changed their mind about bringing it across this evening, but hadn't bothered to phone, and had put it inside.
Either that, or the mechanic took a liking to it, and has headed for the hills?
I guess I'll find out tomorrow morning?

They're usually pretty good, but the problem is you are dealing with mechanics, who have no idea about customer relations. they are not a big enough concern to have an office with receptionist etc.

Hope Mollie had a good day?
emptybox
good evening all

Emptybox
fancy your car getting lost, hope it turns up soon. Do you know if it passed its mot? What a nuisance that you came home early for it, and it never turned up.
It was warm here too today, but not very sunny, which I dont mind, because it gets too hot in the house with the sun on it.

Hicky
hope the dentist can sort your tooth out. Mine was all broken too, but he has been able to offer a cap for me, so hopefully they may do that with yours too. Hope you enjoyed the BBQ, even though you didnt make the beefeater. Why did you give your BBQ away?  Do you have a new one, or do you not use it now? My OH bought a gas BBQ about 3 years ago and he has never used it.   He just leaves it in the garden going rusty.

Not much on tv again, but I did find the new Justin collins show thoug, that was quite good.

goodnight all
M
Night Everyone.

I bet the Mechanic took the car home save putting it in the garage.
They aren't bothered are they?

I go away on the 28th, next Friday.

The other half of the filling has fell out now, was only eating whole nut chocolate.
Have put a bit of the filling stuff in but doubt it will be any good.

We gave my lad the gas BBQ because he will use it more than  us, and it means we can go round to his place.

We can always take the food round, that's not a problem.
My O/H said we can always get the throw away ones from the supermarket and the we don't have any mess, she's not soft.

Still not decided on what veg to plant.

Still don't know when BB11 starts either.

Off work now till Monday anyway.
Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Hicky
Hi Mollie.

Yes the car will have passed, otherwise they wouldn't have said it was ready. No idea if it needed anything, but I would think it just got it's oil changed etc.
Mind you, there wasn't much petrol in it. Plenty for getting there and back, but not enough for the mechanic to take it out on a jaunt.
They'll probably ring at 8am. Otherwise I shall get on to them.

Who could have predicted that eating nutty chocolate would cause a problem for your broken tooth Hicky?
Hope they can refill or cap it.
At least you've got a week before you go away, in case you need another appointment.

Must admit I'd rather it was sunny than the muggy weather we had today.
I saw a bit of that JLC show on mute, while I was talking to my brother on the phone.
Don't know what was happening, but he had a red mark on his neck? Kind of put me off watching when my phone call finished.

Night.
emptybox
Good morning all
Seems to be another warm day today, like you Emptybox, I don't like it muggy like yesterday.
Hope you get an answer on your car first thing this morning. I tink it is bad of them to not get back to you yesterday. If they have driven it, I hope they have replaced the petrol. JLC was trying to get onto the Eurovisiton song contest. Don't know what the red mark on the neck was.    But I did miss bits of it when I was sorting the dog out for bed.

Hicky..
hope the dentist visit goes ok. Well you may as well give the BBQ to your lad if he is going to use it more.
Enjoy your few days off now. Looks like it is going to be nice weather for a few days at least.
Do you have all sorted for your hols now?  are you flying from Manchester?

looks like a good drying day, good because I have lots of washing, and then some stuff to sort out for the accountant.

HOpe you both have a good day.

How is the workload going now Emptybox? Still lots waiting to get their grass cut?

Capaccino time for me now.
the gas man came the other day for a safety check, and he loved my capaccino. I certainly get good use from my coffee machine.
Emptybox..
the blueberries must be in season in Europe now, I got some this week, and they were from Spain, so they were huge ones, and better quality than the ones that I had been getting earlier in they year from a lot further afield.
M
Good Afternoon Mollie & Emptybox.

Hope you got your car back OK Emptybox.

The temporary filling I put in last night was still in this morning, hope Dentist can get it out.

Window cleaner has been, don't think they use water, he did the window while I was on the Puter and there was more water in my mouth than on his cloth, it was as dry as a bone.

My O/H seems to have a craze for those 'Latte' drinks thingies with 12 in a box, you just add hot water.

My Boss rang earlier, couldn't get anything on my Puter screen at work, told him to try another screen and that worked, he's get another one.
Then someone rang to find out how to insert a scanned pic into a Doc and how to scan it from the big printer, sorted that out, it's all fun.
Hicky
Bad news on the tooth, Dentist took X-Ray but said it's too far gone to fill any more.
So now I can't eat or drink, can't rinse for 4hrs.
He said I did a good job of filling it, but when I told him I was going on Holiday things changed.
Think he was going to take it out some other time, anyway, it's gone now.

OH wasn't too pleased when I got back, think she was planning to go out to a restaurant for a meal later.
Ah well, that's life.
Hicky
Aaaww Hicky...sorry to hear about your tooth. I know it is a very unpleasant experience having a tooth pulled, made even worse by the fact you can't eat after it. I hope it wasn't too painfull for you when he took it out, and hope the gum doesn't bother you tonight.
Hopefully you will be able to go for that meal with your OH tommorrow or over the weekend.

Sounds like you are indispensible at work, if they need to keep ringing you to ask you stuff.
I like Lattes too. I bet your OH would like the ones I like from this wonderful coffee maker

https://www.dolce-gusto.co.uk/...dolcegusto-home.aspx

I highly recommend you put one of these machines on your shopping list next time she has a birthday.
M
Evening.

Pity about your tooth Hicky. Was it somewhere visible, or one of the back ones?
Better to get it done before your holiday, I suppose.

That kid is really playing the drums.  Must be strong for his age too.

I got my car back this morning. It needed new brake pads on the front, and new discs and pads on the rear, so it'll be quite expensive.
Never really got an explanation as to why they didn't bring it last night? The guy that brought it back said that after they had done the brakes and got it washed, that it was too late. But when i rang at 4.30pm yesterday, they said they were just bringing it along.

I had to ring them this morning, so i think they must have lost my phone number, even though I've used them for a few years, and they've certainly phoned me before now. But then again, they maybe didn't associate me with the Jag, as they've always dealt with my van before now?
Anyway it's back now.

I'm more or less up to date with my grass cutting Mollie. You've got to keep on top of it, but as long as the dry weather continues, I should be OK.

I'll look out for more blueberries, but my usual supermarket doesn't seem to carry them.

Rebecca doesn't look too bad in that photo Hicky, but i think she's gone overboard with the tattoos.
emptybox
Good morning all
Warm and sunny here today, good for all my washing to get dried, but will be too hot for me to go out in.

Hicky
hope your mouth is healing ok, and you can eat and drink ok today.
The baby certainly has some talent already.
Strange piccy of Bex. Is it actually body paint, tattos or a T shirt... can't work it out?

Emptybox
glad the good weather has meant you are up to date with your lawns.Pity the car is going to cost you a lot. Sounds like your garage isn't too good on the admin side. Ours wasn't either, they lost OH's MOT papers, so they had to do it again before he could collect it. I guess they just like messing with cars, and not the rest of it.

OH's half day today, so we will probably go out somewhere.

have a good day all.
M
Good Morning Mollie & Emptybox.

I've got another pic of Bex, think that she is wearing a thin top with the pattern on.

My Tooth is a No 7 on the right, only 1 further back, but non left in that mid rear section now on the bottom, have the top ones but they aren't much good, and they are the chewing ones.

A beautiful day again here.
Have to do some more on my veg plot, need to buy some more top soil and compost.
Not sure what to plant though.

Got to go to B&Q for a strimmer cord or 2, will have to chop a lot of weeds off that I can't dig out as they are growing in flags etc.

------------
Bex
Hicky
Hicky
well I guess your teeth have lasted a fair while over the years. Hope you can still manage to chew your food ok with those missing teeth. And hope your gum isn't too sore today, and that you can manage to eat ok today?  Especially, if you are gong to B and Q, you may need to visit the burger store.

that is a  typcical Bex pic. She was a bit OTT, but at least she often has a smile on her face.

We have decided to go to the designer outlet shopping centre, a nice place. Then have dinner at the Harvester after. I love the salad cart in there.
M
Good evening all
well it is extremely hot and stuffy here today. Roll on the cooling I say.

We went a nice stroll round the designer outlet, clothes still too expensive for me though, even though they were reduced compared to the proper designer shops, but I did get a nice pair of Clarks sandals.
Had a lovely dinner out in Harvester. I had a spicy veggie burger, the salad cart, and jacket potato. Very nice.  OH had scampy, and daughter had sausage and mash.

Hope Hicky got what he wanted from B and Q.
And hope Emptybox had a good day.
M
Hi Mollie.

My gum isn't too bad, had the usual brekkie anyway.
Went to the garden centre and now have loads of plants to put in, and 4 hanging boxes to make up each with water compartments so that you only water one a week.

Got the usual veg to put in, and the neighbour gave me some seeded spuds,

I made a mince & onion dinner so I don't have to chew.
I made the gravy for the mince from an old favourite I made up, but though O/H would moan, you can try it, it was a beef cube a chicken cube, 5 tea spoons of gravy granules and a few drops of gravy browning, with 3/4 pint of boiling water.
Hicky
Evening.
A mostly warm dry day, but we had a heavy shower mid afternoon.
It's supposed to be hotter tomorrow, and I've to do some grass cutting as well.

Sounds like you're getting your garden sorted Hicky.
Those hanging baskets with the watering system are a good idea.
The potatoes that I planted a while back are coming up now, although i think i may have lost one or two to the late frosts.
I also planted peas and lettuce, but theres not much sign of those yet.
My tomato plants are coming on well in the greenhouse.

I'm sure your mouth will adapt, and find another part to chew with.

Sounds like you had your favourite meal out Mollie.
And a pair of sandals to boot.
emptybox
Good Afternoon Emptybox.

Gums not too bad, eating OK.
Having a busy time, planted 5 hanging baskets, loads of veg to do yet.
Don't  forget, with the spuds, only put 6" of earth when you plant, then add some on top, when the shoots grow 6" add more earth behind, keep doing this till the tubs full, then leave alone, watch the watering though.

My Lad is working from a Boat, not sure what he is doing exactly but he has to have an Armed Croc Watcher with him all the time, interesting eh.
He's moving from the hotel into with the girls in a week, he's working away till then.

Got my strimmer reel and spare line to sort the weeds out on the Patio.

It's so Hot outside, have to keep coming in, have a peaked cap on as I've got a No.2 hair cut, so would burn.
Hicky
Evening.

That sounds exciting for your lad. Is it a small boat? I presume so, if he needs the croc watcher?

I've just got my spuds in a spare bit of a flower bed, not in tubs. But I know to keep earthing them up anyway.
My Dad used to plant loads of hanging baskets, and they looked great.
Don't think I'm going to bother with stuff like that this year, but I might have a go in the future.

Had a busy day myself. Cut some grass this morning, then washed the van, then did the weekly shop, then had a bath, then had my spaghetti bolognese with a couple of beers, now I'm on the computer.
Not a bad day, all considered.

It was a lovely sunny hot day here as well.
Think it's supposed to get cooler midweek though.

Hi Emptybox.

Been to the Garden Centre again, got some organic manure, 4 more bags of veg compost and a bag of small wood chippings to keep away the weeds, maybe.

Have planted by spuds, just going to plant the rest, or some anyway.
The mind is willing but the body can only do it in 2 minute spells which isn't good.

Will have to find more out what my lad is doing, I know the water is is working in has sharks, but he's only the consultant so shouldn't be at too much a risk, don't know though yet, but he ain't scared of anything, that's for sure.
Think they would be scared of him more like.

Think it's Salad stuff for tea, with chicken/Ham and all the rest, just love salad cream.

Must go and do more planting. bfn.
Hicky
Good afternoon all
Hicky
hope your gum is recovered now, and you are eating ok.
Sounds like you have been busy with the hanging baskets. Have you got someone to water them and your veg if it doesn't rain whilst you are away?
Does your lad know these girls he is sharing with? I have heard that the waters in the north of Oz is full of crocs, so no wonder your lad needs a croc watcher if he is on a small boat. Yes as emptybox said, it sounds like he has an interesting job now.

The pics of the sea also looked  lovely in Queensland , but in parts, it is deadly with the killer jellyfish. I got stung by a jellyfish once, but it wasn't a deadly one, else I wouldn't be here to tell you about it.   It was in south Australia, and it really hurt, I went to the life saver tent, and they sprayed it with some stuff to make it better. I NEVER went in the sea in Oz again. I also had a REALLY badly swollen leg once where something bit me, doc not sure if it was a spider, had to have an injection. And once I woke in bed with a cockroach crawling over my face. Thank goodness we got out of that place.   I told OH if we had to go somewhere else, we should of gone to Canada.

Emptybox
You did have a busy day yesterday.  Sounds like you are doing ok with the veg, considering you are a newbie. At least this good weather has meant you have been able to keep up to date with your grass cutting so far this year.

I had a headache most of the day yesterday, think it was down to heat and humidity, and dashing round doing my house cleaning. Luckily it went by evening, so we took dog a walk when sun went down. My head wasn't too bad to stop me popping in Asda to buy a new flowery dress, and T shirt though.

OH taken son to drama, but me and dog didn't go , too hot for walk down seafront. We will take dog out after 10pm when it is cooler. Even the poor dog is flaking in this heat. She has long black fur, so I guess that is very hot for her.

Yesterday, the excitement of the day was when I was watching Channel 4, and I heard a sudden burst of the BB music, and the trailer of a screen full of lovely colourfull flowers.   How exciting, not long to wait to see the new HM's now. I fancy a floral theme, I love flowers, and floral clothes too.

Hope you both enjoy your Sunday.
M
Hicky
your post popped up when I posted mine.
good job your lad is frightened of nowt, because Oz is a harsh country full of scary dangerous beasties, and a tough climate too.

I love salad cream too. My fave sandwich is soft cheese with loads of salad cream, so it drips off the bread.

Best to do only small spells in your garden in this heat.
M
Hi guys.

Lovely and sunny and warm here again.

Australia sounds like a dangerous place Mollie. You'relucky to have escaped with your life.
I'm sure it won't be daunting for Hicky's lad though.

It's a pity you had a headache yesterday Mollie, but glad it didn't stop your retail therapy.

Take it easy working in the garden in this heat Hicky.
You know what they say about mad dogs and Englishmen?

Had a bit of retail therapy myself today.
Went back to Halfords and got an air vent mount for the sat nav, along with a wiper blade for the van and a tax disc holder.
Also i bought a couple of pairs of shorts and some sandals from Matalan.
I haven't worn shorts since I was in Primary school, but if we are going to get a record summer, I think I might need them.

Think I'll probably wear them in the house and garden to begin with. Not sure I'm ready to inflict my skinny, white, legs on the world straight away.
emptybox
Good Morning Mollie & Emptybox.

Work today, got the air con on so it's ok in the office.

Will be going out after to get a new Puter screen, mine packed in the boss said, have got another one on temp, told him to get me one from PC World, he rang me to see which one I wanted and to find it on the web.
You can't look at an individual shop, want a Dell one which they now sell as well as the others, want as big a one as they will let me have, mines a 24" Widescreen at home, but they are ÂĢ200 and a smaller one is only about ÂĢ80, I'll see what they will be willing to pay.

Still got some veg plants to sort out yet, will finish off tonight,

Soft Cheese with Salad Cream, haven't tried that, sounds good though.
Made a few Salad batches yesterday, put 3" of filling in them, yummy.
Hicky
Good morning all

Hicky
Glad to hear the air con is on where you work, it has indeed been very hot and stuffy lately. My little dog didn't want to go on a walk this morning, the heat has exhausted her, but of course she has to wear this thick fur coat, which makes her hot.
Enjoy your outing from work. That is a bit of a treat to escape shopping in PCWorld during work time.   Hope you find a nice screen that suits you. I love salad cream with new potatoes too. I bet your salad batches were delicous in this weather.

Emptybox
good on you getting yourself some shorts. It won't take long for your legs to go brown when you do your gardens.  The gardeners in Oz had to wear thick boots and long trousers because of the snakes.   But I don't think you have to worry about that too much in your house gardens round there do you?   When we lived in the valleys here, backing onto the forests, they had quite a few snakes round there.  A neighbour found one under a metal sheet in their garden, and another neighbour used to go walking early in the mornings up the mountain paths when it was sunny, so he could photo the snakes who liked to come out and sunbathe.
Yes indeed Australia can be a dangerous place, the kids at school were taught to be scared of spiders, and to never go near one if they saw one. But I am sure Hicky's son will be well aware of all the pitfalls by now. Hicky... Is your lad getting plenty of chance to do the swimming he enjoys?  Does he have a pool where he will be living? I know a lot of places have them.

Emptybox...Sounds like you have all the equipment ready to get your sat nav all up and running now.   You will have to go and get yourself lost somewhere to see if it works.

brekkie time for me ... cheese and tomato on toast today, with a latte from my coffe maker .

Hi Mollie.

The day didn't work out as intended.

The Monitor I wanted is only for home delivery as it isn't kept in the stores, I ended up finding one after talking to the PC World help line, it's a 23" Widescreen LCD Packard Bell, but it doesn't really matter what the make is if it's a good make. They don't seem bothered about the cost as they didn't ask how much it was anyway.

But we didn't get time to go out to the shop anyway, so they are going to pick it up tomorrow.
I might have to work Wednesday and friday also this week, with being off next week, I don't really mind though.

I'll find out more about what my lads up to, my O/H talks to him early in the morning, but I'm still asleep then, unless I'm working, she's probably up at 5am.

Hicky...Shame you didn't get that outing to the store. Looks like it will be all sorted when you get back to work Wednesday though. Yes, not long till your hols now. Good job the volcano has died down now. Do you fly from Liverpool?

Hope your lad has settled in his new job, and home with the girls. Does your OH start work early, or is she just an early bird? Handy for her to be up then though with the time difference in Oz.

Me and daughter just bathed and brushed dog. She dashes out in the garden after her bath, and rolls in the dusty areas, and grass. I don't think she likes being clean.

time to sort dinner ready for when OH gets home. Jersey potatoes, mushroooms, peas/sweetcorn, chicken for him tonight.
