Thanks for trying though Dave! Big Grin

The current version of Flash Player is 10. I think the simplest way to check what version you have is to do a search on your main hard drive using the parameter flash*.ocx

The results should include a file showing which version you have - mine is flash10b.ocx.

If you need to you can update your version by going to the Adobe website via
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and then downloading and installing the current version.

That seems to be a current version so Flash doesn't seem to be the problem (have you tried again to get access to the chatroom? - it might have been a temporary problem).

I've no experience of unblocking ports - the procedure will depend on what type of firewall (if any) you are using.

I have Windows XP Professional on my PC and this comes with a firewall. However my anti-virus s/w also has a firewall. I use this rather than the Windows one. It is not a good idea to have 2 firewalls in operation at the same time as this will cause problems.
