Useless government scheme "Welfare to Work" - only 3.8% of participants find jobs that last over 6 months.

Nailing the government's hate politics of stigmatisation of the unemployed.  A scheme that actually has worse statistical outcomes for job seekers than doing nothing!  Job hunters left to their own devices have a 5% success rate!

Defenders argue that it gets the unemployed back into the work pattern and a chance of work.  Its appalling stats suggest it is totally worthless in reaching its pathetic target of 5.5% in work.

I have a few friends who were made redundant lately.  They were sent to these back to work schemes.  All that seems to happen is people fill in forms and CVs - there are no real job opportunities and the rare occasions they do go to work, it's only ever for a 6 month period and then they are let go and the next lot arrive.

Most people who are serious, get jobs of their own accord, but this group cheekily claim those people as having got their jobs through this scheme  more governmental fudging of figures

anyone with an ounce of sense could see that this wasn't going to work
