wow no we had gas by then but a gas fire as well

Our next house was in a village where there was no gas so we had electric storage heating which I hated.

Glad to move here and have gas central heating at last.

those storage heaters were expensive - we had electric heating in our first home but we soon changed it - electric is expensive

Yes, storage heaters were very expensive to run too
