I voted for a name change and for the forum to become general (with a BB section if possible).

 

The popularity of BB has plummeted since we all came together on the Ch4 forums, so to increase membership might it be a good idea to change the focus of the forum but still keep a BB flavour?

Is this not already called Big Brother UK?  I think the reason the forum doesn't get more new people is because it is a very small part of a much bigger site and even in searching for Big Brother UK it doesn't show up on the first results page.  I think a spam campaign would help. 

I don't really know how it works when stuff is searched for Cinds.

I meant changing the GagaJoyJoy bit really, I suppose as opposed to the actual name of the individual forum!

This is a hard one - we're a little bit of everything 'specially when BB isn't on so I can't think of a name that would reflect us other than GaGa (in the mad sense of the word) 

 This could be the way forward - I think publicity is a key factor in getting people to sites.

Mmmm, not sure, think maybe there should be a name change that is TV specific, but with a BB/ (Reality) TV emphasis so that it shows up on a search? Guess one of the difficulties is that we have loads of separate areas that are rarely if ever posted in and therefore the BB section of the forum has become about just about anything and everything, including lots of other TV/Reality shows, film, music etc. etc. which seems to work. Maybe there should be just two 'areas' one for everything people watch/listen to and another for 'general chat' SITs and the like?

Another place I frequent has loads of bible bashers. There are loads of bible related user names. It gets rather hilarious at times.  For a site where the majority of users claim to be practising christians they seem to forget about the 'love thy neighbour', man they can bicker.

Super's post re Google got me thinking.

 

How about if Lori or one of the others created a featured topic in this Big Brother forum which had a title something like "Welcome to the Big Brother forum" with a message welcoming people to the forum.

 

Google has picked up Baz's thread because it has Big Brother forum in the title so if Google has picked that one up it should pick up a Welcome one. Baz would need to change the title of her thread so that Google stops picking it up.

How many 'new' viewers is BB really going to get? Its the old die hards that watch it on C5 and its probably going to dwindle as the years go on. Reality TV that includes all the sat night programs, the celb in the jungle program and all that would be much better and attract more people, I think.

I wouldn't mind a name change, as long as we all know how to find the forum We could call it "sweet's Christmas grotto" or "sweet's pancake palace" or "pink ladies clubhouse"
