Well done Chelsea, well done JT! That was a good performance IMO - they toughed it out against a Man Utd side that had lengthy spells of control. Not many mentions of Essien today but he was strong in central midfield - often covering for Deco who gave the ball away far too easily several times. BTW Hi everyone - first time i've been here in ages!

Actually being that rag head is a derogatory and racist term for Arabs, how long will it be before Man City start getting called it?
The word "Rag" was started by united fans from the story i heard, they used to call it themselves because they used old rags as kits and one day a steward who worked at united used it and they knew he was a city fan, they were offended that he used it. From then on they are reffered to as The Rags by the majority of city fans, not manchester... theres only one team in manchester, the so called united are in stretford Manchester is blue... and will always be blue.

"racist term for Arabs, how long will it be before Man City start getting called it"

I don't think we will ever have that... it won't catch on, perhaps the minority of idiots will use it, but unlikely to hear a whole stand shouting it.
MrMincePie
I hope not Meaty, there's no place in footie for racism no matter how foul the player or team may be.
That's a good story though about the rags origin. Actually Arsenal play in red and white because they got their original kit donated by Nottingham Forest way back when.  I love all those old stories about the history of footie

England squad to play Brazil...

Goalkeepers: Ben Foster (Manchester United), Robert Green (West Ham), Joe Hart (Manchester City).
Defenders: Wayne Bridge (Manchester City), Wes Brown (Manchester United), Gary Cahill (Bolton), Glen Johnson (Liverpool), Joleon Lescott (Manchester City), John Terry (Chelsea), Matthew Upson (West Ham), Stephen Warnock (Aston Villa).
Midfielders: Gareth Barry (Manchester City), David Beckham (Los Angeles Galaxy), Michael Carrick (Manchester United), Tom Huddlestone, Jermaine Jenas (both Tottenham), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), James Milner (Aston Villa), Shaun Wright-Phillips (Manchester City), Ashley Young (Aston Villa).
Strikers: Darren Bent (Sunderland), Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe (both Tottenham), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)

Cahill gets into the squad for like the fourth time running. Based on it being a friendly and who isn't there, I'd expect him to get a few minutes at least...
disley21
Thanks for posting that Disley. I'm really glad that Arsenal don't have any players going - what a complete waste of time to make them fly all that way for a friendly.
I'm beginning to hate internationals, I am so sick of our players picking up injuries while on international duty that will rule them out for months.

FACup/Non league stuff.
Trip to Burton albion today.Basically Oxford City have always put their (tiny) weight behind the girls league over the past nine years as we've struggled to build it,so pay back time. Was delighted to get to the first round proper(4 leagues below Albion)..and the 20k will go some way to improving facilities for all of us at Court Farm..right down to grass roots kids level...and this is what the FA cup is all about imo.People like veggie who watch the game at every level.People like me(and there are thousands!!) who get up Saturday morning to clear pitches of leaves, erect goals,etc.Anyhow...to go ahead was ace...and to find ourselves drawing in injury time...hope against hope..we were holding our won here!!!!To fall to the injury time equaliser was a bit cruel.Well very cruel...but what a great run out(and am sorry my daughtr gave everyone swine flu!!)

And Sky decided to cover it up by muting the sound  Unfortunately it'll be swept under the carpet up here. The Celtic support can do no wrong. We get villified in the papers for certain songs and crowd behaviour in Europe, maybe rightly so....but you will never hear anything about the Celtic support....The self proclaimed Greatest Fans In The World.

Morning footyfans

Grrr Bury out of the cup  got what we deserved by all accounts - started poorly but finished well. Our injuries have caught up with us - we ironically invest in strikers during the close season - only for half of them to get injured ho-hum!

Man United played really well! and I'm really encouraged, best we've played for a while, shame we have an international break now
Hardluck Mazzy with oxford - last minute I hear

Morning Perones and everyone
Mazzy, that was really bad luck, I watched the highlights after MOTD2 last night. I love the FA Cup.
Brentford got hit by a very late equaliser away at Gateshead, they don't like those cup matches against little teams from the North East. I was a bit torn over it as my brother was a huge Brentford fan and my dad was a Gateshead boy.
Perones, I thought that Man U got cheated yesterday tbh, son won't even talk about it as he's so angry.
I was glad the ref booked Drogba even though it was one of the few occasions he was genuinely injured and glad he booked Rooney for giving it the mouth - the rest of his reffing was really bad

Hi Veggie  Drogba...what's so annoying about it, is that he doesn't need to do all his histrionics - he is a fantastic player, best striker (when he wants to be) in the premiership I reckon. It did look painful for once - but his reaction was ott. It was hilarious in the pub, when he eventually got up, some wit shouted "it's a miracle! praise the Lord!"

Hi Mazzy  mobile phones should automatically not work on 2 occasions - during a footy match..and 2) when you are drunk  - they should have an in-built breathalyser

I was just reading some of Ferguson's comments about officials, and as much as I dislike the guy, he's right.

I lost faith in the ability of officials a long time ago, as did many others as they were getting deservedly criticised everywhere you looked. The FA then decided to take action in order to improve the situation. Did they introduce video technology to help aid decision making? Did they re-train all officials to ensure they know what they're doing? Nope, they just made it a punishable offence for anyone within the game to criticise them, and we simply get told to put up with their inconsistencies and pathetic decisions as part of the wonderful, yet utterly redundant to what was required respect campaign.

Genius.

i feel i must raise issue with the comments regarding the drog and his reaction after being booted in the chest by evans......when he lay on the grass wiggling his legs...

what its not a well known fact is.....the drog is a HUGE fan of john and edward from the x factor.......and he was paying homage to their ghostbuster routine on saturday.......when they too led on the floor wiggling their legs..........didier feels his copying their routine will propel the twins to x factor glory...

instead of commentators/fans saying.......'he's gone down like he's been shot'........they'll now say......'he's gone down like jedward'

memba i told ya.............

thats good news, i'm fuming though some need to grow up I mean death threats towards two teenagers on FB etc hate groups, how pathetic.

About the match am disappointed we lost not going to lie, but life goes on it's not over yet despite there being a five point lead. We played much better which is a bonus just hope now for a response.

Heatseek...gawd you must gutted with the 'pool this season! especially after last season..
Nah not really,

It's no where near as bad as it looks. Having gone through an amazing amount of bad luck...a BEACH BALL you would have never imagined that could happen - i still can't believe it actually did!!

We're still close, others are playing poorly but no one is noticing. A couple of games and bang you will be suprised how things turn.

If they don't it doesnt matter, blips happen. Normal service will resume, and we will have a huge share of luck that we deserve coming our way, for the most special occasions.

I can wait for this team

                                                          Pepe

Johnson            Carra                                  Agger         Aurelio
                                       Masch
                                                                     Aquilani
Kuyt/Benayoun                               Gerrard                             Riera/Babel
                                                          Torres

And subs : Skrtel, Ngog, Babel/Riera, Benayoun/Kuyt, Kelly/Insua, Cavalieri

One more thing i'm still convinced Lucas is a rubbish player, however I do rate Babel and wish Benitez would give him a chance
I didn't include Lucas in my above squad but I think calling the lad 'rubbish' is a bit harsh - he was never going to replace Alonso was he...

Babel is lazy and the sooner he's gone the better - I'm not disputing his talent though....more of this :

and less of this
Heatseek
Maybe it was a tad harsh, theres players there like N'Gog, El Zhar etc that wouldn't get into Chelsea, Man U or Arsenal squads maybe it needs strengthening.

Torres is a quality player though, he was great at Atletico yes I did watch Spanish football. Aquilani will prove his worth for sure but Alonso has sure left a gap in the squad thats for sure.
