Hey Darlo

What a brilliant performance by the Villa Keeper, saves 1 in the match and then 3 in the shootout. We should see if we can give him English citizenship before the World Cup pmsl.
Yep it'll be a mixture tomorrow night from what the boss has said so far. Fabianski and Nasri are back from injury so they will get a run out. I expect he may play Senderos and Silvestre too if they are fit. Unfortunately Wilshere is out and I'm not sure about Traore either.
He may go with Sanchez Watt up front and I expect Ramsey and Vela to get a run out.

I did Maggie, disappointing but we was outplayed and you win some, you lose some so you can only hope the players respond next match and improve.

I missed the penalties, will have to catch up on SS but well done to the Villa.

Thats good news, shame about Wilshere though. He will probably play Kieran Gibbs also and maybe couple of the younger players. Maybe he will play Arshavin also after his skillfull display last time

Can I just say, this footy thread was historically and still mainly now, a good natured one, people with opinions etc, but not generally nasty, full of over-the-top swear words and full of wind-ups, friendly rivalry was always good though. But there was an unspoken line which no one crossed. This line is beginning to blur which is a shame. I'll say no more on the matter as, like trolls, it's best not to feed them.

Morning footyfans

Hmmm the Man United game was mixed for me. Obertan looked very classy, Tosic..hmmm show's promise but the jury's still out for me. Gary Neville has always got a lot of stick, and for me it was rarely deserved. Have to say though, last nights tackle that he was red-carded for was disgusting. Maybe I'll see it again and think differently, but I watched it closely and I think he meant it. Right now, I'd strip him of his club captaincy and perhaps put him on gardening leave. I'm thoroughly dissappointed in him .

Morning rzb

What on earth is going on at Goodison? they are a pale shadow of what they've been the last couple of seasons. I didn't see any of the match..Spurs play well ?
I'm thinking of giving up on Cahill and Baines in my Fantasy Footy team...you stick with them through thick and thin..but think I'm dumping them!

we played a lot better than we did on Saturday, which wasn't that hard to do, we created a fair few chances, but it wasn't until the 80th minutes, I felt as ease. We gave Bentley & Bale a run out, both did OK, So all round it was a good evening for us, Everton had lots of big names playing, but just returning from injury.  You know Everton & Spurs never seem to have a good season at the same, Last year we were bottom they were top, and this has gone on for years. I didn't know Distan (sp) was at Everton.

I wonder if they'll bring that Aviva supporter with them, or whether the lerkal barber will hold sway. (Apologies to people who haven't seen the advairts like).

Green army!

my brother went to Uni in your neck of the woods in boro..would it have been called Teeside Uni or something Jo? He used to say the boro players could often be seen at a well know club..was it two tree's or sommat..ring any bells Joe ? I wonder how the players will react to strachan...I don't think you could get more contrasting personalities than strachan and southgate!

Good to see you've cheered up, the cats in the area will be pleased. Bentley?! talk about forgotten men!!! I did hear on the radio he did quite well.
Bentley did OK, but he was given a lot of room to perform, can't see him gettng that sort of space if he plays against Arsenal at the weekend, but with Lennon out injured, I think he will probably play.

RZB Bentley playing might spark him back into form and show his worth. Bale is a decent player though.

It's not Bentley's fault we paid 3 times over the odds for the player, also his arrival coincided with the worst start to a season ever, then Lennon becomes of age, and it leaves Bentley well & truly out in the cold. Maybe a sudden change of luck will increase the value come transfer window time..

Glad they sold Gunter to Forest he's doing well there and I did like him at Cardiff.
It was a shame it didn't work out, Maybe he was bought to sell on, some you win , some you lose,  I think if Bale gets himself fit, he will probably be sold on, unless he gets back to the form he showed when we first bought him,  Since he had nearly a year out, it's been hard to get back to that form.
