In County Durham we have villages called, Pity Me, Fatfield and Muggleswick.  

Love, (and know) that one...... I used to like the fact that they had a school up here called Bilsdale, Midcable, Chop Gate...pretty much no one could pronounce it! 

Which reminds me of a place in Norfolk...Wymondham

Isn't there a kids TV programme called Crapstone Villas ? It's such a 'silly' name tou'd think it was made up.

 

Thinking about funny names - I remember years and years ago seeing a sign that said 'portsmouth for the continent' underneath someone had written 'Frinton for the incontinent'
