@Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing  that's genius !!

Wonder if the mix would be ok though? Surely it can't be too conflicting I guess

But that's a great idea

If you like. tell me the quantities of all the things that make up each mixture and I'll see what  proportions I'd use myself,

Thanks for the help

I bought Aftercut all in 1

Total nitrogen 12%

Phosphorous pentoxide 2% (0.9%p) - soluble in water 0.2% (0.2%p)

Potassium Oxide 4% (3.3%k)

I normally use Evergreen 4 in 1

Nitrogen (N) total 14.0%

Phosphorous pentoxide - soluble in neutral ammonium citrate 1.9% (0.8% P)

Potassium Oxide (K20) soluble in water 4% (3.3%K)

Yes, they do look fairly similar going by those figures. On the surface that would suggest you should get a similar performance from both and going purely by the figures my first instinct would be to mix them 1:1. However as you feel the AFTERCUT is not as good as EVERGREEN so I wold suggest 2:1 mix, Evergreen being the greater quantity. If the Aftercut really is giving a poorer result it could be the quality that is poorer or maybe  just that the recent high temperatures over a longish time is actually preventing it from working at its best and that possibly Evergreen too , would give a poorer performance in these conditions.

I am surprised though that the Nitrogen content is not greater.

@Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing thank you for the help

I think it probably 'is' the weather that's more a factor as you say and as I really don't want two hue bags hanging around I may persevere with the Aftercut this year.

Especially as I also need to purchase Rose Clear, potting compost, plant feed etc â€Ķ

Now - my Bay Tree leaves are turning yellow despite plenty of water - I read it's lack of feed so â€Ķ Miracle Grow or something else?

Renton....Hows your dad doing ?

*waits with Baz *

Thanks for asking - he is much better and should be coming home tomorrow.

He looks better but eating poorly, had several transfusions and blood thinners for a leg clot.

To be honest it's been lovely without him - spending time with my Mum in peace n quiet has been a blessing cos my Dad is more than an awkward customer (even in hospital) - he's been refusing to co-operate with their advice.

Stubborn is not the word.

I was helping him get ready for bed in the hospital and turned the light on â€Ķ which he then walked passed as he got into bed - when I asked if he was going to turn the light off he said, "You put it on - you turn it off"

That's a snippet of his character

It's been quiet, clean and sooo relaxing with him in hospital

I’m glad he’s feeling a bit better.

Is his crankiness due to his illness, or just normal for him?

Sadly it's normal - he's been horrible to me all my life - he never wanted children and has made it clear

You are a son to be proud of - just look at the way you are taking care of both your parents despite your dad’s attitude.
