"Gore, 51, made the tongue-in-cheek remark in an interview as he accused Cowell and shows like X Factor of having a negative influence on the music industry"

There are respected musicians who've proved their successful longevity in the business who also think shows like X Factor have had a negative influence. When I see X Factor contestants being taken to Premier's and walking red carpets I think how they've been in the business 5 minutes and this is how they're treated now and it's pathetic.

Depeche Mode are signed to Mute Records and have been all of their career. Mute Records was founded by Daniel Miller in 1978. Mute Records parent company is Universal MG and as far as I am aware, the plank Cowell has nothing to do with Universal MG.

I have always enjoyed the music of Depeche Mode and I always look forward to their next release. Clumsycat pretty much summed up my feelings toward Cowell...
