I always fancied going to Israel ....many moons ago....but way to dodgy these days

a friend of mine went a couple of years ago...what he told me was heartbreaking  They cut the electricity off and some days only allowed 4 hours, they use water to irrigate their farmlands out of the Sea of Galilee and by the time the Jordan gets to the border it's a trickle

was that outside of a tourist area dammeee

Oh I see ....yes , I wouldn’t venture into Palestine ...

they would welcome the west visiting to get the truth out...although apart from bombed buildings and baron land there's nothing to see

But they kill on both sides Dame ....

of course....google Palestine in 1948 and google it now, they are prisoners held on a ten mile stretch of land. The Israel army have much more fire power than the Palestinians .. when you kick a dog it tends to bite back although they have no chance

We have to agree to disagree ....I think it’s much more complicated than either you or I can understand ....I can see both sides

think its history is even older than that - division of land after WW1 after the fall of the Ottoman Empire - the land wasn't divided fairly

the recent problems started in 1948 when they  gave the Jewish escapees a piece of land, I am certainly not knocking that and they needed a safe haven and after all escaped a maniac   I can certainly see why they are aggrieved

Yes , but I believe  it was the rise of hard line Palestinian nationalism in the 1920s that started the ball rolling ...

I'm a great believer in dialogue it will never happen while the current Israeli government is in power. there no right or wrong, but you cannot imprison people on a stretch of their own land, burn their olive groves and steal their homes and expect them not to try and fight back ..which in my opinion is futile, eventually I fear for their very existence
