I was thinking August as Bake Off - the Professionals would end on Tuesday 28th July assuming those episodes continue as one a week, Different channels of course so BBC could start in late July.

You could be right El .....although as long as MC wasn’t on Tuesdays .....

Begins on Wednesday 1st July on BBC One at 21.00. Second episode on Friday 3rd at 19.30 immediately followed by the half hour 3rd episode at 20.30. The five contestants that week are Myles Stephenson, Thomas Skinner, Judi Love, John Barnes and Shyko Amos.

BBC's blurb is a bit confusing for tonight as it says the first  challenge is to devise and cook one dish to show the judges their potential and the third challenge is to prepare a dish of their own design in just one hour. Sounds the same challenge so I checked the info on next week's first episode with the next set of five. Turns out that the first challenge is the Masterchef MarketPlace one where the contestants have to decide from what's there,

The second challenge is the five celebrities are split into two groups to take on the challenge of cooking for the first time in a restaurant kitchen for paying customers. John, Myles and Judi head to Allegra to serve up modern British dishes, while Thomas and Shyko are sent to Yeni, which showcases Turkish cuisine. Allegra and Yeni are London restaurants.

One of the five goes home.

By the way, if you've seen more recent series of Death in Paradise, you'll recognise Shyko.

It's a while since I last watched any episodes of DiP. so I don't know if I'll recognize Shyko. But sometimes I remember faces without the associated names.
