Comments about BB demise seem premature

I'm not so sure, just like the 'civvie' version, the numbers don't look good. Slow, lingering death. It's all about advertising and if the viewing figures go down, so does the advertising revenue.

Celebrity Big Brother 2017 ends with least watched final to date

The live show averaged 1.6 million between 9PM and 10:45PM live on Channel 5, peaking with an audience of 1.9 million as the winner was revealed.

A bumper edition of Bit On The Side straight after averaged 600,000 viewers.

As usual, the summer run was much lower than the winter series earlier in the year, with January's All Stars run ending with 2.2 million.

Compared to previous summer series, the final was the least watched yet falling just below 2015's 1.7 million viewers where James Hill won. 2016's summer final had 1.8 million viewers with Stephen Bear being crowned the winner.

And overall, based on overnight figures, this summer's Celebrity Big Brother goes down as the least watched to date.
