What is not clear about the choice?

Nothing about a vote after a deal has been reached. Nothing about delaying leaving. Nothing about a second referendum. Nothing about revoking Article 50....

As most of you will know, I voted to stay. My choice.

Spot on Moonie I totally agree ....even though I voted the opposite way

I would suggest that given what we are currently going through (which some of us expected following a significant amount of reading), a straight yes/no choice fell well short of what we should have had.

IMO, it's like applying for a job and they only question they ask you is "would you like a desk or not".

As a staunch remainer who thinks Brexit is absurd I would love to 'cancel' Brexit.  The problem I have is that 14.2 million voted for it!   I think they were very wrong and misguided but that's just me.  I think they were suckered in by liars.  Again, that's just me!

However, their vote must count.  The government can't just ignore their vote because it deems it of no worth.  The Lib Dems are a party that even proposed a referendum on staying in the EU.

The Lib Dems have a long record of cynically playing the electorate with goodies they never expect to be called upon.

I'm biased as a staunch Labourite but I find the Lib Dems culturally disrespectful of voters and democracy.

Not often we agree Carnelian ....but in this case we do . I think , whichever side of the argument we are on , the blatant disregard of people’s votes in this manner  sets a very dangerous precedent . But by the way , the figure is actually 17,401,744 ....with over 15 million of those in England alone .

Someone should post that on Jo Swinson's Twitter feed, or better still let her opponents have it.

I suspect she would counter it with "We are a party that has changed, we evolve, consider the options, what's best for the UK and make policy based on that, if this mean doing a u-turn, then so be it. We are a progressive party with fresh, forward thinking ideas" ... or something similar.

So does this mean that a democratic vote is not democratic unless you get the result you (meaning the remainers) want?

I reiterate I voted to remain but will abide by the democratically arrived at result...

Seems like it Moonie ....which doesn’t say a lot for our democracy ! At this rate we will be re running every darn election on the excuse that the gbp didn’t actually understand what they were voting for !
