I was looking at a list of films on IMDB due to be released this year. Seems to be a lot of remakes and sequels. Just some of the better known ones:
David Copperfield, Dolittle, Emma, The Call of the Wild, (The Invisible Man is so loosely based on the novel that I'm not calling it a remake), Mulan, Peter Rabbit 2,  The Secret Garden, yet another Fast & Furious, another SpongeBob film, a Wonder Woman sequel, another Ghostbusters film, A Top Gun sequel, another Bill & Ted film, yet another Halloween film, a remake of Dune and the year ends with the film remake of A West Side Story.

The films are listed by the release date. Whether any of them are worth watching I can't say - it just seems to be a lot of remakes & sequels.

I’m not keen on film remakes, I tend to give them a miss.

Hi Yogi

The remakes are never and I mean never as good as the originals...

Good morning everyone

Very cloudy here but not quite as gloomy as the last couple of days.

Re remakes, although rare, some remakes have been better. A good example is "The Wizard of Oz" - there had been a couple of films made before the famous one though are long forgotten. The Judy Garland version of "A Star is Born" is a remake.

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning sunny spells here and pleasantly mild. I have a wisdom tooth that’s raging again, I’m hoping it’ll calm down before I need a dentist again.

how are you all today?

I do like the remake of Miracle on 34th Street

~Sparkling Summer~

Summer, I hope your troublesome wisdom tooth eases. Short term treatment (besides pain killers) is to rinse with warm salt water.

I've never seen the remake of Miracle on 34th Street as I wasn't convinced that I would like it with the central character being played by Richard Attenborough (Pinkie in Brighton Rock, Christie in 10 Rillington Place for instance- both characters extremely nasty).

Evening all

Summer, you maybe need to have that wisdom tooth removed

I had to have all of mine removed because I didn’t have room for them and one in particular gave me terrible problems.

Hope everyone has had a good day

Good morning everyone it turned out extremely foggy/misty for most of the day yesterday.

Summer I hope the tooth settles down again. I liked both versions of Miracle on 34th Street and thought Richard Attenborough made a good Santa.

Enjoy your day everyone

Thank you El, I’m gargling tea tree oil in water at the moment and hoping it calms the gum down.

Good morning everyone

It’s cool and overcast here with a slight breeze. Dry so far though

Shopping done so me sorted

Sweet, I hope your tooth problem settles down soon

Have a great day, all

Quite good film on the Talking Pictures channel this evening, a black and white British film called "Tiger in the Smoke" (1956). I saw it on television many years ago and thought it quite interesting. It's based on the novel by Margery Allingham, the detective story writer. The book is one of her Albert Campion books but in the film, he is not in it.

The film ise set in a noirish smog-shrouded London - the smog is quite effective.

Not to be confused with "Footsteps in the Fog", the Stewart Granger/Jean Simmons film.
