Good morning everyone

It’s raining here again. El, I hope you get that sunshine.

Squiggle, Rear Window is one of my favourite films. I love James Stewart and Grace Kelly was absolutely beautiful.

Ros, I agree that public firework displays is the way to go.

Have a good day, all.

Good afternoon everyone

Wet overnight but a typical autumnal day now. Cold, a slight breeze, cloudy but the sun keeps making an appearance

Shopping, banking and rent payed so that’s me sorted

Have a super day Buddies

If you aren't trying to answer any of the questions in Dame's history quiz you might want to watch this Youtube clip I've just posted there. It's a brief clip from one of Handel's operas. It's rather unusual

Moonie, I'm back from that collecting in the dry - sky very dark now so rain expected . I've been doing the annual accounts for the client for several years - it's not a registered charity but the accounts and my work are very similar to that for a charity - no tax work involved as the income isn't taxable as such.

Old British film from 1943 on the Talking Pictures channel called "Variety Jubilee" in the schedule for early Wednesday morning at 4 am. Story is of 3 generations of music hall owners spanning the early 1900s to the early 1940s,

Film is only of interest to anyone interested in music hall acts and songs from that time as the film has numerous acts and songs. Besides songs which are associated with wars (such as "It's a Long Way to Tipperary" and "'Till the Boys come Home" there are songs such as "If you were the only girl in the world", "I do like to be beside the seaside" and "After the Ball" which some of the lyrics and music are quite well known.

One of the acts is "Wilson Keppel & Betty", the famous sand dancers who dressed up in psuedo-Egyptian outfits. I don't know which routine(s) they did for the film so might not include their much imitated one.

All OK here, Velvet

Moonie, it's November now so no surprise it's turning colder - my central heating has been on automatically this afternoon. No mention of in my part of the country yet in the forecasts.

Same here El

The new Tesco clubcard advert is likely to cause outrage from anyone who has seen the film Casablanca. It's taken the famous farewell scene between Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman and has replaced their dialogue.

This is the famous scene:

Tesco should be condemned.

El, I’ve just seen that ad on the television. It’s good but shouldn’t be allowed

Good morning everyone it's a bit wet and windy again this morning so I plan on staying in. I haven't seen the Tesco advert and watch so little TV lately that I probably won't ever see it so I'm a little in the dark.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning everyone

Cloudy and dry here, forecast to turn wet later.

Yogi, I'm glad you had a good day with the tiddlers and hope you have a nice time out and about with hubby

That Tesco clubcard advert may have been shown ahead of schedule as it refers to things coming into operation from Friday. Can't find the advert online yet.

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning everyone

It’s cold but dry for now. A lot of rain expected after midday

I will probably go out before then

Yogi, I see you are going out and about today. Grocery wouldn’t be on the list would it?

Have a super day, one and all

BBC article looking at nuclear fusion - "a question of when, not if":
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/sci...environment-50267017

Scientists have been trying to do this for decades as it would have a huge impact on generating energy supplies. Trouble is that so far as much energy is needed to create fusion as the energy created.

Not to be confused with fission which is what has been used for years. Fusion is what the Sun does. Only a small amount of material would be needed to generate fusion energy.

Star Trek impulse drive is an example of fusion energy in science fiction. Not to be confused with warp drive which is just science fiction - at present.
