On Friday morning I posted here about BBC Four's Prom concert in the evening which was a performance of Hector Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique.

I recorded it and attempted to watch it last evening. What they did with it might have entertained those who were looking for some light frivolous entertainment. I was unimpressed. I was expecting something very different.

It’s awful when you are looking forward to something and they go and spoil it

It seems that the Aurora Orchestra seem to do the same things with their other performances so they are something for me to avoid in future. The music itself was OK, it was all the other stuff which didn't work for me.

Not many people would abseil down the Eagle tower in Cheltenham, but even fewer at the age of 90:

One of the tallest, possibly the tallest, building in Cheltenham. Used to be occupied by Eagle Star. Many years ago when a new gigantic computer was installed, the top of the tower had to be opened up and large cranes used to lift the computer to the top and then lowered down inside. That was the only possible way. I'm refererring to huge mainframe computers, not personal ones.

The only county in England not to have a McDonald's may be about to get one:

Many of the county's inhabitants (just under 40,000) aren't happy.

No prizes for guessing which county

Good morning everyone it's a little brighter this morning. The forecast for the week ahead is sunshine all the way. I hope they're right.

I hope your day of errands went well Yogi. That's an interesting choice Ros Vera Lynn songs. Should go down well at the coffee morning.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning everyone

Sunny here, cool at present though will warm up.

Last evening for about half an hour around 10 pm here I could hear the sound of a WW2 air raid siren coming from somewhere. Nothing on the local or national news about this. I suspect it was coming from the university campus not far away. Yesterday was the first day of the induction week for the new students so I think someone was playing tricks on them.

I hope everyone has a good day

I hope that siren didn’t upset or worry any elderly people

Amongst other ideas for electric cars needing to make sounds for safety reasons, Nissan has trialled a warning system called Canto that adds a choral element to the engine's whirr. So if you hear a moving car singing it could be that:

hate electric cars - so dangerous - there are a few near us and they are silent - so worrying - would have one if they made some sort of noise
