Two downpours in the last few minutes here,  No rain showing on the very local weather site so either it's not working or the downpours are extremely localised (the weather site is less than a mile away).

Hi El

We have had one light shower and one heavy shower. I caught them both

Moonie

Good afternoon Buddies

Sunshine and showers with the emphasis on showers

Banked, shopped and paid the rent so that’s me done for the day

Happy Monday to you too Sweet and to Miss Bramble, of course

Have a good afternoon everyone

Moonie

Re my posting about Steve Smith not wearing a neck guard. It's not mandatory but it's likely that there will be pressure for it to become mandatory - another Australian player died back in 2014 as a result of being hit on the neck in a match so this isn't something new.

Evening all.

Sorry you got caught in the showers, Moonie

It has been a mix of sunshine and showers up here.

Summer, I was out and about with MrY today - nowhere exciting

I hope you’ve all had a good day

Hi Yogi

Would you you believe the only two significant showers of the day?

I hope you and Mr Y enjoyed our ‘out and about’

I would believe it, Moonie

Good morning everyone

Fair weather here and likely to svoid any of yesterday's downpours.

The world's largest computer chip is being developed.

Far too large for ordinary computers, it will have 400,000 cores. My computer has 4

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning everyone, a fine morning after a very showery day yesterday. Moonie I hope you didn't get too wet.

Enjoy your day everyone

I did in the heavy shower Squiggle as I only had a body warmer on

Moonie

Moonie, I think the two downpours here yesterday were very localised as they din't register on the local weather recording site which is about a mile away. At least they lasted only a few minutes.

The shower here didn’t last long either El

I thought that might be the case

ITV showing another Midsomer Murders on Bank Holiday Monday starting at the saem time as the very last episode of Poldark. Odd timing for ITV to do that. That episode and 2 others which have been made but not yet shown in this country have already been shown in Norway, Belgium and Italy last year. Looks as if ITV are giving Midsomer Murders low priority. IMDB show that there's another 4 episodes being made yet to be shown anywhere so presumably ITV isn't axing it - yet.

Confirmed that Steve Smith has been ruled out of the third test which starts on Thursday due to the delayed concussion. I think he'll be back for the last two tests but the third one is too soon.

Does this mean we may have a chance of a win then El?

Possibly, but hardly the way England would want to.

Evening all

Mostly sunny spells today.

No tiddler minding as son was day off but I may have them on Friday instead.

Smart meters were fitted, with no problems....so far.

Hope you’ve all had a good day

Good morning everyone it's a bit brighter this morning, not sure whether we're due any rain today. Sneaky showers that come out of nowhere seem to be the modus operandi at the moment.

Enjoy your day everyone

squiggle

Good mornng everyone

Some cloud here at present but forecast to be fair weather today.

Yogi, I'm glad the fitting of the smart meters went much better for you than when mine were done

I hope everyone has a good day

El Loro

Good morning

Apologies for not returning last night

Sunshine and showers expected here today. Currently sunny

Just a little shopping to do today 🙂

I hope everyone has a good day

Moonie

Moonie, no need to apoogise, I didn't return either

Jusr finished cutting the hedge at the front as it had become overgrown. Didn't want to leave it any longer as it's forecast to get on the hot side after tomorrow. At least brushing up the cuttings on the pavement was easier than previously as a result of the resurfacing,

The cryptic notice for my road is still on Severn Trent's map and I've still no idea what it's about.

Nice one El

I wonder why they are being so cryptic?

They know what the problem is so why not share it with its customers?

I hope the council will let it be at least until the autumn rains come I don't think it's vandalism as that's wanton destruction and nothing's been damaged

Having just reread the article El, it says “legally it’s an act of vandalism, even if it’s very nice vandalism”

I think the likelyhood of the CPS deciding to prosecute is near non-existent. If you read the first two paragraphs under "Meaning of Damage" on their approach:
https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/criminal-damage

I don't see that there is any permanent of temporary impairment of value or usefulness to the bus stop

And now a literay poser. Here's a short list of partial titles of novels. They exclude the part of the title which would give it away. The dots just show there's a missing section and don't indicate how long that section is

"The Posthumous Papers...."
"....or the Parish Boy's Progress"
".... A Tale of the Riots of 'Eighty"
"...................the Younger of Blunderstone Rookery"
"....for These Times"

Who wrote these novels?
