Been a while but hope all are well

Tears for Fears were right - It's a Mad World.

Hope the grandkids continue to brighten it for squiggs and Yogi

Have a good and pleasant day everyone

VD

Good morning everyone it's a lovely rainy morning, music to my ears after the long dry spell we've had. I wish you all could have been here to see the sunset yesterday. The whole sky and the sea turned the most astonishing shade of pink and stayed that way for about half an hour!!!

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning everyone

Rain continuing here from yesterday.

Squiggle, it's nice to live in a part of the country where you get the landscape views you get, Turneresque

Yogi, I hope you and you mum found the wallpaper and paint she liked

A client may be dropping off some papers for me to do her tax return some time today,

I hope everyone has a good day

Good afternoon it’s very dark, cloudy and windy here. My head is pounding and I’m fully convinced it’s the change in weather. Last night was scorching so I cracked on with painting my garden fence, I’m making good progress.

El, I too concluded that Albert can’t have died at the end of this series because they’ve 2 more children to have as yet..

Squiggle, my garden is looking fabulous thank you I’ve filled my pots with geraniums and begonias this year and they’re blooming nicely now. I’ve just repaired a trellis and my wisteria is growing nicely. That reminds me- I must pick up some plant food today your glorious sunset sounds stunning, I’m glad you enjoyed it

yogi, what colours did your mum choose?

~Sparkling Summer~

Summer, I hope your pounding head eases soon, could be paint fumes or dehydration if it's not caused by the weather

Sounds as if there will be a gap before the next series of Victoria - it's not known how long and if the series will resume in 1851 or later.

El Loro

Evening all

I had a rough night and it’s not much better tonight, so I’m heading to bed after Bake Off.

The tiddlers were good. They managed to get some playtime in the garden after school.

Summer, I hope your headache has lifted  Thundery weather always gives me a headache.

El, did the client turn up with the papers?

Squiggle, your sunset sounds beautiful

What what what!!! I hope they do resume it, I love that show.

Good morning everyone

Cloudy here, not raining at present but more is forecast later.

Yogi, I hope you were able to get a better night's sleep
The client's husband did drop off her papers yesterday morning. I haven't looked at them yet.

Summer, The writer of Victoria is intending to continue the series but said that it's taking a breather.

A client meeting this morning, should be straightforward.

I hope everyone has a good day

El Loro

Good morning everyone.

Weather is dry, with some cloud.

Thank you everyone, I did get some sleep last night and the spasms have eased off.

Hope the meeting is straightforward, as expected, El.

Have a good day everyone

Yogi19

Thanks Yogi The meeting was straightforward though there's one of her monthly fee income invoices missing and she's going to try and get it.

I'm glad you were able to get some sleep and that the spasms have eased

Can't remember what a recent advert was for but it used a snippet from the Dies Irae from Verdi's Requiem:

Great music.

I think it was an Audi car ad, El.

loveeeeee this - sang it a few times I always finish the  song after the advert - sad

Good morning everyone it's a little cloudy this morning. I'm glad you were able to sleep better Yogi and you must be more comfortable now that the spasms have eased off.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good mornng everyone

Raining here - cumulative rain in my area for the month so far already exceeds the average for June.

Yogi, I think you are right about it being an Audi car advert I hope you had a good night's sleep

Ros, I thought you must have sung Verdi's Requiem a few times. Do you have a favourite Requiem, Verdi, Mozart and Faure being the ones which come to mind ?

Thanks Yogi and Summer regarding my brother not being affected by the loss of water in London

I hope everyone has a good day

A poor reflection on the audit firm I used to work for many years ago:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-48621095
There are links to 2 other BBC news articles on that page about similar recent issues in the audit profession.

It's been such a long time since I've been in that line of work that things could have changed but at the time I was made redundant, there was something which doesn'y seem to be mentioned. At that time, it was the normal practice in the large firms for audit staff on site to be trainee accountants and qualified accountants of probably qualified for only a short time (probably not more than 3 years). The audit manager would be qualified but probably only 2 to 5 years. The partnet would be longer qualified but wouldn't be involved in the day to day auditing work, There wouldn't be many people with years and years of experience.

No, it's not something I would go back into with the huge amount of bureaucracy that would involve.

It was good to clear the drain #silverlining

I’m queuing at blood donations, it seems there’s a new blood virus they’re now asking about. It’s called Human T- Lymphotropic virus. Very low risk but they’re still questioning about it like they do other blood viruses.

~Sparkling Summer~

Summer, that virus is uncommon in Europe but quite common elsewhere - apparently 10% of the population in Japan has it. There's some 8 to 10 million people in Africa with it. Here it's more likely to be immigrants and drug users. The virus can lead to forms of blood cancer amongst other things which is the reason for them needing to ask donors.

As I have never given blood I am not allowed to now in this country (66 is the the cut off age). People over that age can if they have previously done so.

El Loro

Evening all

Sunny morning and cloudy afternoon - no rain.

Well done on giving blood, Summer. I hadn’t heard of that virus.

Mr Y has a gastric bug so I’m looking after him, whilst trying to keep my distance.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

Yogi19

Sorry to have just missed you yogi keep washing those hands! I hope he feels better in the morning.

El, you’re spot on with that information, they did list those countries on the new info sheet. It’s news to me too.
