Brief visit between client visits. Haven'r heard from the computer shop so it looks as if it won't happen until next week.
Nice to hear from you Moonie and your swans

Just now as I was finishing lunch I was channel hopping and saw a couple of minutes of some film called Sharknado 5 (presumably the 5th in a series). I guess it's some sort of comedy/horror/disaster film. Sharks rampaging in the form of tornados (hence the title). They were attacking Buckingham Palace.  One man got on the back of a shark which flew up in the air, crashed through an upper floor windows, through a room and then crashed down the stairs to the ground floor. The man got off the shark, retrieved a crown from the mouth of the shark, and then a door opened to show someone as "The Queen" (zero resemblance to the real Queen) who looked more liked a heavily botoxed face, and the man gives her the crown saying "Your Majesty".

Possibly the more preposterous 2 minutes of film I've ever seen

Back out now.

Thanks El, from all of us

Moonie

Fankoo Sweet, likewise

Back from client number two. No messages either phone or email from the computer shop so looks like next week. It's possible that the drive has arrived but they'll contact me when they can do the work straightaway rather than just leaving it there for when they can. It's not as if the computer has broken down.

Arranged with another client to see her tomorrow morning. I had already done the work and was going to wait until my computer was done. But I thought I'd ring her and see if I could see her briefly tomorrow. She was in "deepest darkest Herefordshire" (her words) and her mobile reception was poor. Hopefully she got what I was telling her before the reception gave up all together. I've sent her an email anyway. The client I saw this morning, the "client who lives in the middle of nowhere" currently lives in Worcestershire but has lived in Herefordshire so I know that things like mobile and internet connections can be tricky in places.

Hi everyone

Weather is dry and bright atm. We did have some rain overnight.

Moonie!! So good to have you back - you have been missed

Going to an event at PB’s school today and then we are picking up BB from nursery and bringing both children to ours until DiL gets in from work.

Have a good day, all.

Hi Yogi 🤗, fankoo so much

Awww, I hope you and the little ones have a lovely time together

Yesterday I managed to get a lovely video of our family marching like little  soldiers from a huge feed at the side of the little pool back onto it 😮😁

It’s to big to show in here but well you know the ‘but’ 😉😁

Have a great day everyone

Oh yes, I meant to say to Squiggle that I’ve downloaded the new Milly but haven’t read it yet. Good to know it’s another good one.

My mum is new to the Milly Club, she’ll be pleased to here there’s a new one out too

i hope you’ve all had a good day, and enjoyed the energy of the solstice I’m feeling under par, and a little out of sorts, which is no great surprise because there’s so many viruses going around. I think the up & down weather catalysts these things.

Sweet dreams to you all, yogi I hope you’re putting your feet up as soon as possible, you’re a busy bee

Good morning everyone, it's a gorgeous morning here and I hope it is wherever you are too.  How nice that your little swan family is thriving Moonie.  What a treasury awaits your lucky Mum Summer.  My favourite favourite is, I think, her first 'The Birds and The Bees' I have read it over and over.  I will re'read 'The Teashop on the Corner' too, can't remember too much about that one. I hope you can get your computer all up and running again soon EL.

Enjoy your day everyone

thank you yogi it was fantastic - went much better than I expected especially Mozart's' vesperae messe solonelle confessiore '- a challenging piece - really pleased and Vivaldi's 'Gloria 'also went well - we rehearsed Mozart more through necessity. Lovely string quartet ,soloists and church organ - only downside was our conductor is starting a 3 month chemo programme in July so will have  a stand in conductor in September - He came back to the choir 2 weeks after a cancer op and through his radiotherapy - music is his world !

Good morning everyone

Cloudier here than the last couple of days with rain forecast for later. Met Office forecast for the next couple of days is better than the BBC's where they have lots of thunderstorms.

Summer, I hope you are feeling better

Ros, well done on yesterday's performance I hope your conductor's chemo treatment is successful

I hope everyone has a good day

Sad to hear that William Simons, the actor, has died, he was 79.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/ent...inment-arts-48734657

Best known as PC Alf Ventress from Heartbeat.

I also remember him as Inspector Fox in the Alleyn Mysteries (Patrick Malahide was Chief Inspector Alleyn) based on the Ngaio Marsh books.

El Loro

The church organist played the Heartbeat theme music before this mornng's service as his tribute to William Simons. I confess I didn't recognise it as without Nick Berry singing the words and it being played on the organ

El Loro

I'm wondering if the organist got it wrong this morning.

This is a piano version of the Buddy Holly "Heartbeat" which is what I would have recognised as the correct music:

and the is a piano version of the Kelly Clarkson "Heartbeat" which I think he might have played:

Selected those clips as no lyrics and piano closer to organ.

It’s better without Nick Berry’s rendition

Your practice must have paid off, Ros. I’m so pleased it was a success

I hope your conductor’s chemo programme knocks that horrible disease on the head and he is soon back conducting the choir.

I liked him as Alf Ventress in Heartbeat and also as “Brer” Fox in the Inspector Allen Mysteries.

Good morning everyone it's a very misty morning- visibility nil, I hope it's better where you are. Well done Ros on performing those tricky pieces. Sad news about your conductor but hopefully the chemo will prove successful.

Good morning everyone

Featureless cloud blanket overhead here. Visibility is OK here but at higher ground level would be misty as for Squiggle. Might get rain here today but forecast indicates more likely overnight and tomorrow.

First of this week's client meetings this morning. It's very straightforward.

I hope everyone has a good day

Back from that straightorward client meeting. Tried to file her tax return with HMRC but got an error code message 1000, something about an internal system error. Looking that up indicated that there was a problem at HMRC's end rather than here. Couldn't log in their online site either. So it looks as if their online computer services sites were down. Tried again half an hour later and the return got filed this time.
