By the way, that film has been given a PG cert in the States. Has yet to be certificated in this country but that indicates it's likely to be a PG. Sometimes films get a very different rating in this country (Badlands for instance - PG in the States, when released in the UK in 1973 an X, later an 18, and now a 15 but that's extremely unusual and is because of the different attitude to guns between the UK and the USA).

Good morning everyone, a lovely bright and breezy morning.  Moonie you must feel a little like a proud parent watching your swan family, another successful breeding season.  My favourite bit is always when they are old enough to swim behind the parents.  The Downton Abbey film looks like it's going to be good, when is it out?

Enjoy your day everyone

we’ll count down to Downton together then girls, I’m pleased to have it to look forward to now that The Durrells, Game of Thrones and The Big Bang Theory are finished forever! I loved the TBBT finale btw, they did it justice

Getting all that fur removed has given her a new lease of life.

I’m definitely in for the Downton countdown

Summer, there's been a shower here in the last half hour. The cricket at Cheltenham started yesterday. No play today in the Gloucestershire/Lancashire match due to last night's rain and not helped by showers today.

Most of Gloucestershire's home cricket matches are played in Bristol.  This match is being played at Cheltenham College. It's not part of the Cheltenham Cricket Festival, also at the College, which is long established, which takes place in the second half of July for a couple of weeks.

Gloucestershire used to play a match at the grounds adjoining what was the Wagon Works in Gloucester. They haven't for a long time - the ground isn't at the standard needed. Later they played elsewhere in Gloucester but that ended about 10 years ago.

Evening all.

It has been sunny with a couple of showers up here. Fortunately it was sunny when PB got out of school so we were able to spend some time in the park.

Both children were on good form and we had a fun time.

Hope you’ve all had a good day

Good morning everyone

Cloudy here and some rain forecast during the day. Cooler than recent days. Forecast is for a warm Saturday (24 C).

Ros, it's half term holiday for schools here this week as well, I think it's Scotland which doesn't.

Watched a 1957 film on the Talking Pictures channel called Time Lock. Young boy accidentally locked in a bank vault - can the door be opened before the air in the vault runs out? Quite good low budget film and obviously quite tense. A British film set in Canada - it's a film version of what was originally a Canadian television drama. It was produced by Peter Rogers and directed by Gerald Thomas before their Carry On films and is totally different to those. Most of the cast aren't well known, Robert Beatty being the only one I recognised - with one major exception. In a supporting part but in much of the film in a very early speaking role was Sean Connery.

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning everyone we could do with some of your rain down here EL we've had hardly any for ages.

Enjoy your day everyone

I hope your area does get some of the rain, Squiggle - there's been 6.8 mm of rain during Sunday, Monday and Tuesday here, and just over 30 mm during the month so not huge but helpful, lawns are green rather than brown.
