oooooh cute- I love dachshunds!!

I’ve had a lovely day, thank you. I took my mum clothes shopping, she’s lost over 5 stone now and is able to enjoy having more choice of things that are available to her. We then went for a carvery for dinner, I always get the turkey, it’s delicious

By the way, the archaic word "ruth" does mean pity or compassion. It's one of those words which is no longer used though the -less word is. Another one is "reck" = care or concern.
The name Ruth is unrelated and is a Hebrew word.

I’ve never heard ruth used as a word

Clearance went well - five binbags of stuff went to the tip

Well done Yogi - 5 binbags

The word "ruth" was used at the time of John Milton. Here's his sonnet 9 where he uses it (to rhyme with truth):

(I have a 2 volume Oxford English dictionary which mentions Milton under their definition of ruth so I did a quick online search on his poetry )

It wasn’t rubbish as such, just stuff we hadn’t used for years and there seemed to be no reason to keep it.

 Hadn’t seen that poem before

I got a strange phone call a few minutes ago from someone with an Asian accent. He said something about UK postal services. The call didn't last more than a few seconds until he ended it. I don't know what he was intending to do and don't know if it was some sort of scam. From time to time I get emails about postal deliveries which have links which I know are viruses but a phone call

Exciting course tomorrow morning for me, an accountancy update one. In recent years it's been a half-morning or half-afternoon but this time it's nost of the morning. It's a course that I'm expected to attend as part of the required CPD (continuing professional development) but I'm not expecting anything of significant interest for me.

Although there were 5 fairy pictures, the auction is selling about a dozen items, some black and white ones and some hand coloured ones. The items are being auctioned individually with some being in the low hundreds and others in the thousands.

The snow quickly turned to sleet then rain so, no problems
