Good morning everyone

Rained during the night here, still gloomy and some more rain is possible. By tomorrow, the weather should be more settled.

Summer, I knew my film question was too tough to post

Of those "garden" photos my favourite was the misty bayou one as it conveys a sense of mystery.

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning everyone, a very dramatic sky this morning, it's very calm over the sea and in the sky there are really huge grey clouds drifting slowly over the house, still breezy though.  I just saw a weather forecast on the BBC to hear that the winds have died down now, while the trees are blowing to and fro, must be my imagination then.

Enjoy your road trip Summer, I've no idea where you're going because I don't tend to stray from this thread nowadays and I haven't read about it in here

Enjoy your day everyone

Moonie, I hope your dreadful weather improves, it's not too bad here

Squiggle, I assume the BBC are referring to storm Erik having gone so not the strong winds in parts of the country though I may be wrong

Yogi, I hope you have a nice time with your family

Summer, I hope your journey to Sheffield goes well

Our church organist was absent due to illness so we sang the hymns being lead by the choir. Not bad given that this was at short notice.

Good morning everyone

Sunny here and the weather seems settled for the next week

Yogi & Moonie, I'm glad your day went well

The Antarctic scientists have arrived at the Weddell Sea to start searching for Ernest Shackleton's lost ship the Endurance:

The Weddell Sea is due South from Uruguay (going past the eastern side of Argentina) until one gets to Antarctica.

I hope everyone has a good day

Here's a question for Sweet Summer
In which non-animated television series were Anna, Elsa and Kristoff ?

I don’t know! tell me, tell me!

Summer, I'm posting this here as you mightn't spot it if I posted it on your quiz topic. It's part of the "Once Upon a Time" fantasy series. Characters from fairy tales and other sources transported to live in modern times though some have magic abilities. Although not made by Disney, it was distributed by them in the States and lots of their characters appear at times in the series. It's darker than their animation films. Regarded as one of the best ever fantasy series, typically 12 certifcate for fantasy violence, nothing offputting though.

It's life action, not animated. There were 6 series plus a 7th reboot (different cast for most of the episodes and in a different location though some of the original cast do appear).

Anna, Elsa and Kristoff appear in the first half of the 4th series.

Good morning everyone

Another day of settled weather here.

I happened to come across an episode of the John Gregson TV series "Gideon's Way" last night. Standard Briish police procedural series made in 1964 based on the character created by John Creasey (there had been a film version made starring Jack Hawkins). Two criminals had escaped from prison storyline. What made me watch it was recognising who played one of the criminals. Very early in his acting career, wouldn't have been well known at the time, hadn't developed the voice that he became known for but still recognisable. He was to appear in lots of films and also known in television roles. The only clue you need to identify him is that his death scene in one film is possibly the most famous death scene in film even if you've never seen the film, other than Janet Leigh's in Psycho.

I hope everyone has a good day

I should have known that!!!!!!!!! I’ve seen it! lol it was good! I didn’t watch the series 7 reboot though, it didn’t appeal

Summer, although I've got all 7 series of "Once upon a time", I've re-seen the first 3 which were on Freeview, and the 4th series but have yet to see the later series.  I'm aware that the 7th series does have the actors who played Regina, Hook and Rumplestiltskin in the earlier series are in all of the episodes and that the final episode has lots of people from the previous series in.
