Good afternoon I hope you all slept well and feel good this morning

thank you very much for your gorgeous birthday wishes I’ve just opened my cards & gifts, and had a lovely breakfast

I’m going to walk Bramble and then come home pamper myself, I hope you can all join me in some celebratory cake eating today 🍰🥂💕🎉

First of two client meetings today (both straightforward) done. Client, late 50s, doesn't drive so either walks or uses public transport. He had told me that he was going to go into town after he saw me to sort out paying his tax (doesn't have a computer or mobile phone so paying online isn't an option). We are on the same bus route - he lives about 2 bus stops further away than I do. I had worked out that he could catch the bus at 14.14 from the stop close to me so timed the meeting to finish to allow him to catch that bus. But he didn't bring what he needed to do the payment in town (I assume a bank or building society passbook). So he has to go back to where he lives to get it so will have to catch a later bus (half-hourly service).

Good morning everyone

Cloudy here, a bit of rain around, mild compared to recently.

Summer, sounds like you had a nice evening with your friend

I hope everyone has a good day

Squiggle, as you say we could do with a dry spell but it doesn't look as it we'll get one this week, tomorrow morning is forecast for another dose of heavy rain which isn't good news though it's not all day as it was on Sunday.

With the news that the village of Stilton has cancelled its annual cheese rolling contest on May Days due to declining interest, it looks as if the Coopers Hill one in the Gloucester area could be the only one left.

Good afternoon 👋 it’s rained here overnight, melting our snow & ice the sun is coming out now

i should have a cake hangover but fortunately I don’t lol

Ros, I love those birthday pancakes! thank you

what a shame about the cheese rolling contests, I hope there’s a revival to bring its popularity back up! Thank goodness the Gloucester one shows no sign of declining. I’m sure they still do some in the north east, I think one of my friends goes to one every year where she grew up

There's a new unit of time - a flick - it's been invented by a Facebook engineer. There are 705,600,000 flicks per second. It's slightly longer than a nanosecond (1,000,000,000 nanoseconds per second).
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-42787529
It's to do with the speed of frames  to try to avoid flickering. Frame rates include 24Hz, 25Hz, 30Hz, 48Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, 100Hz, and 120Hz. (24 Hz is 24 frames per second for instance). 705,600,000 is divisble by all of those so a frame will consist of an whole number of flicks rather using fractions.

I wasn’t expecting that

By the way it's worth watching the clip to see her acceptance speech

Evening all

Thanks to the melting snow and heavy rain, there is a lot of surface water on the roads.

PB sends a message to her “Pancake Queen” - “We made pancakes today and they were yummy!”

lol @ The Minnie Mouse acceptance speech

El, when I see Wensleydale cheese, I always think of Wallace & Gromit

I hope you’ve all had a good day

Good morning everyone

Wet and windy here, no weather warnings in the south of the country but are in force further north - storm has been named Georgina.
The appalling weather on Sunday wasn't named as a storm as although extrememly wet, it wasn't windy enough.

Yogi, I too was thinking of Wallace and Gromit as I was posting about Wensleydale cheese

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning it’s just stopped raining here but it’s been heavy & very windy this morning already

*polishes pancake tiara 👸🏻* one highly approves of yogi & the pancake princess’s pancake activity yesterday

isnt there a new movie coming soon, that’s made by the makers of Wallace & Gromit??

Summer, that movie - Early Man - is released later this week, The official trailer:

Rated PG for "infrequent mild bad langiage" and "threat"

You may have noticed that DFS teamed up with the Early Man team to make their recent advert.

Good morning everyone, yet another windy and rainy morning.  The good news - everywhere is looking very green.  The bad news - everywhere is also extremely soggy.  I definitely think pancakes is the only way to go!

Enjoy your day everyone

Squiggle it’s very wet and windy up here. Still lots of surface water on the roads.

I was doing some extra minding this morning.

Summer, I knew you’d approve of the Pancake making.

Grandad asked if they would like to make homemade pizzas next week but they are swaying towards making more pancakes

El, I feel sorry for anyone who gets scammed but “truffle trees” should have set alarm bells ringing.

Hope you’re all having a good day.

Still raining here, hasn't really stopped at all today.

Yogi, sounds as if your family have become pancake lovers

The truffle trees reminded me of the classic Panorama April Fool the BBC did back in 1957:

That’s it! I thought I may have dreamt it, but now I remember seeing an advert on the side of a bus
