My neighbours still have the scaffolding outside their house. It doesn't look as if the people who own the scaffolding are in any hurry to get it back, though I know the owner is a friend of the neighbour's father.

It looks as if it's going to be there for the rest of the year - I saw this morning at the back that the scaffolding is festooned with Christmas lights (I'm not making this up)

Its just when i click on clips. a yellow banner says plug in (flashplayer) not responding. Then it says it has crashed. very annoying. I have googled to try to find the reason for it always doing this, but not getting anywhere.
Sorry to be soooo boring! x
El, sure you havent been on the cooking sherry?

Skylark, this may help, I hope it does

This is a common problem. You should be able to fix this problem by removing Flash completely and installing it again from scratch using the desktop installer (rather than the web-based installer).

Uninstall Adobe Flash Player using the Flash Player uninstaller, then restart (off > on) your computer before installing the new version. Doing this will remove all versions already on your computer so that you can install Flash Player again 'clean'.

- The uninstaller will delete both IE and non-IE versions of Flash.
- You need a separate version of Flash for IE and non-IE browsers.
- Save the installer(s) to a folder before running them.

Uninstaller: http://www.adobe.com/go/14157
Installer(s): http://www.filehippo.com/search?q=adobe+â€Ķ

Do I need 32-bit or 64-bit? Visiting the link above for the uninstaller will also provide you with your system type under the "Flash Player information" heading. If you have problems with 64-bit then use 32-bit. The most common causes for a problem with 64-bit are that your system is not 64-bit or the browser you are using is not 64-bit.

If you click on the link in the web browsers to install these, that could be the issue. Download them to the hard drive and install them from there. Make sure you delete the ones already installed and have opened my computer, opened the programs folder and remove the folders that were left behind. This way you start out clean.

I hope not as I was cutting my grass at the back at the time

I hope squiggle's post helps the flash playing problems.

Morning squiggle. Yes i hope so too. it wasnt advertised, well not that i saw anyway so i just turned it on to see what it was about and thoroughly enjoyed it too. i have read a lot about the women who were codebreakers during WW2, fascinating stuff. It must have been difficult for them to settle back into their lives again, and of course they werent allowed to discuss their work.

I found it interesting too, and that whole attitude then of patting women on the head, that 'don't you worry your pretty little head about it'.  And having to say you did clerical work when their work was vital to the war effort and required enormous intelligence and flair.

I did see it advertised, in the mix with lots of 'drama coming this autumn' and I had picked it out as a possible.  They lost me a bit on their whittling down of possibles but then I suppose they would as they were trained in breaking down things into patterns and spotting things that I wouldn't.

Yes it must have been infuriating being patronised then! Especially when doing such important work and not being able to tell anyone

No, I didn't.

When I was in Cheltenham this morning I heard an alarm going. It was coming from a Royal Mail van whhere the lights were flashing, and a loud message was being broadcast "This van is under attack. Please contact the Police". It seems to have been a false alarm as the Royal Mail van driver was standing outside the van doing nothing.

My husband was held up at gunpoint (a sawn off shotgun) once whilst guarding one of those vans and he once found a sack full of cash ÂĢ20,000 whilst on gate duty.  It had fallen off one of those vans.  Needless to say he handed it straight in.  It was a lot of money 30 years ago when it happened.

As you can see from your experience this morning and those incidents above, working for the Post Office is a very exciting career!

Evening I hope everyone had a lovely day, the weather was glorious here- I even ate a magnum after work! Work was non stop, it's been a very busy week. Then I walked bramble, had a bath and abandoned my tea to fall asleep! I just awoke on the sofa Ok, picture the scene; Mr summer gets home from a tough week at work.. He's tired, he's hungry.. After walking bramble, I decide a bowl of cereal will do me. Mr summer spends ages preparing from scratch, a delicious gammon steak dinner with lots of veg.. Meanwhile bramble is doing her nightly scatty dog routine, circling the living room at light speed.. Mr summer sits down on the sofa thinking his dinner looks and smells tasty.. He takes one bite of a potato, and then BANG! Miss bramble has launched herself on his lap and over the sofa, down and round, knocking all the food over and dragging half of it with her on her lap!!!! She's never ever jumped up at a meal time before there was mushy peas all over the sofas, carpet, cushions, wall, coffee table, her bed..! She spent the entire evening in her crate like a grounded school girl

Squiggle, poor mr squiggle certainly had a scary experience during that robbery I hope he recovered ok from it. My SIL was held tied up and held at gun point during a robbery at a farm house some years ago, they had a pillow over her face and she was convinced she was going to be killed! They were looking for a safe that they couldn't get into and were disturbed when 2 car loads of friends turned up, sending the thrives running and safely rescuing the people there, including SIL. Mad story that one

(excuse me popping in) my paper described the Bletchley prog as like Enigma but with Miranda in the starring role rather than Kate W. However we found it surprisingly good. My Aunt was fluent in six languages and worked in various neutral cities during WW II. She never spoke about it, but given that she was invited to one of two film premieres incl. Heroes of Telemark, we assumed that she had some sort of intelligence background.

How intriguing that she was invited to the film premieres. What a shame she never spoke of it, Joe, I bet she would have had some really interesting tales to tell.

Feel free to pop in here any time.

Summer, she must have been scared out of her wits! Thank goodness her friends turned up and scared them off.

Oh no! Poor Mr Summer, just getting ready to eat his tasty dinner and Bramble lands on it! (Is it bad that I want to laugh as I picture the scene.)  Mr Summer was right to "ground" her though, as she won't be likely to do it again now.

Oops, edit to add: Good morning everyone, not a bad day weather-wise.

Good morning everyone

Another lovely sunny day here though expected not to be so good this coming week.

Summer, very naughty Bramble - I hope she never does that again.

What a horrible experience that was for your sister in law. It's just as well the friends turned up when they did.

GJ, I'm sure your aunt would have had some fascinating stories to say if she were allowed to tell them. The Heroes of Telemark were about a group of resistance fighters in Norway. Sweden was neutral during the war, but the leading Norwegian intelligence organisation XU was based in Sweden. Also some of the Norwegian resistance fighters were trained in secret in Sweden. Telemark was intended to be used to produce heavy water to be used to make a nuclear bomb. So if your aunt was in Sweden some time from July 1942, then that suggests how she may have been involved.

Good morning everyone.  Summer I actually went Oh! when I heard about Mr Summer's carefully prepared meal getting ruined like that.  And the mess must have been horrendous!  Naughty Bramble, she certainly deserved her punishment - her naughty step

Wow that was a terrible ordeal for your SIL, Summer thank goodness the friends turned up.  We react in odd ways under pressure I was furious with my husband because he was late for his dinner   the full horror of it only sinks in later.

I remember seeing that film The Heroes of Telemark, very good it was.  I was always fascinated by this concept of heavy water.  The films about the SOE were always also fascinating, Carve Her Name With Pride I remember is one and I am sure there are several others I have watched.
