Summer, I hope it brightens up for you. Next door, there's some builders come today. By the looks of it they are working on the flat roof over the bay windows at the front. I don't know if they are replacing it or just repairing it. I'm not surprised as my house is the same age and I had to have mine replaced a couple of years ago. As the scaffolding is already there for the rendering, it makes even more sense.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the Olympics medals table over the next 3 days. It's clearly going to be between the States and China for the top two places - no surprises there. But it's the third and fourth places which are of more interest. Can GB hold off the Russians to remain in 3rd place? GB had already exceeded expectations and could well stay in 3rd place. Russia will probably have a higher number of medals in all, but the big surprise with Russia is the low number of golds. The current table shows that whereas GB has 25 golds out of 52 (43%), Russia has 12 out of 56 (21%). In 2008, Russia had 23 golds out of 73. So if Russia gets a further 17 medals to match the 2008 results, they would need to have 13 of those to be gold to get to 3rd place and that is assuming that GB gets no further golds. So at present, it's looking good for GB to remain 3rd. Vladimir Putin won't be happy about that.

El Loro

Good morning everyone. It's another sunny day!

Keira is back in her usual sunbathing spot - at one point she actually fell asleep.

Will post photos down below.

El, I hope the renovations don't cause you too many problems with noise and dust. I still have the road repairers outside. It will have taken them five days to repair some potholes in my (not very long) avenue.

I do hope GB manage to hold onto their 3rd place in the medal table - and if it upsets Putin, it will be the cherry on top.

Summer, don't worry about disappearing, I assumed you had been Brambled.

Sorry Yogi,  had a very busy day yesterday. Made my brother and niece the meal i promised , then my sister, nephew and daughter arrived . It was all go, by the time they left and cleaned up i fell into my bed!
Son is ok, thanks, he got some cream and it cleared, so thankfully it didnt turn into anything serious. He says  before and after touching crocodiles and snakes they were given some anti bacterial handwash and thinks he may have got a reaction from that.

Hope you all well this morning x

It sounds like it was the anti-bac handwash, glad he managed to get some cream for it.

You've had a busy time but it must have been lovely to see your brother and niece again. Did you make them a proper steak pie?

Well said Summer, they have done us proud I know my way of supporting Olympics is funny.  My first Olympics since I was widowed and as my hubby was a sports fanatic I thought I would take the other route.  I have enjoyed the odd bits I have come across (especially the BMX, my grandsons would love love love that BMX course and they have managed to watch a bit too).  My heart is in my mouth for Tom tonight, I do hope he learned from the synchronised event and has been practicing like mad.

A beautiful morning here, a lovely cool breeze and wispy blue sky, every window and door is flung wide and I feel God's In His Heaven and All is Right With The World.  I hope it's a lovely day for every last one of us.

This has been running through my head so I will post this You Tube clip here for you all to enjoy

Glad it all turned out so well Skylark.  It does sound like it was a reaction to the handwash, some pretty strong chemicals in some of those things.

That sounds like a happy busy day you had

Lovely pic of Bramble, I love it when she looks so thoughtful.

Lovely description, Squiggle.

Nice music clip - with some seriously dodgy haircuts.

Yogi, I'm not the only one here with psychic abilities, so do you . Not only did I go out this morning and get my hair cut, but this afternoon I've just cut the grass

The equestrian dressage GB team in the Olympics have been great as you know. Gold in the team event with Carl Hester, Laura Bechtolsheimer, and Charlotte Dujardin. In the individual competition, Charlotte Dujardin got gold and Laura Bechtolsheimer bronze.

Laura Bechtolsheimer lives near Ampney St Peter, near Cirencester.

Carl Hester has his base at Oaklebrook Mill stables near Newent.

Charlotte Dujardin is also there.

Newent is about 10 miles to the NNW of me, and Ampney St Peter about 23 miles to the SSE of me.

There are others in Carl Hester's team including Dexter:

He's a 10 year old cross between a Jack Russell and a Rottweiller (not intended), and apparently quite a character.

I had to google quokka - very cute!

Sorry Yogi19 - I haven't been around to see this on account of it being my birthday.  I keep the yabby in the vegetable drawer of an old fridge.  It's the most roomy place I have for it.

^^^^^^ An ingenious idea, Lizzie.

A very Happy Birthday to you.
