I wonder if your cat thought there was a dog there amongst the records. I remember "His Master's Voice" was one of the major labels. (That's what HMV stands for).

It was based on a painting of the same name:

The dog was called Nipper.

I think you might hear me shouting for Murray, too. Yesterday, my middle son, who tends to raise the roof when shouting for his football team, had the cheek to tell me to "Calm down, Mum!" when I was cheering on our rowing teams.

Good morning sunny spells and cloudy spells here, rather humid and I have laundry on the line it's only towels I lay on the floor by the back door for Bramble to wipe her feet on, so it shouldn't matter if it starts to rain Skylark I cannot believe its been a week! How fast did that go?! Have you missed her? I remember the hmv dog Bramble kissed a donkey this morning He liked her Right, I must get on and clean out my rabbit hutch! The door has been open a full half hour and they still haven't noticed they're upstairs & the downstairs door is open Back shortly

Yogi, during the 1960s, the "His Master's Voice" label was then owned by EMI and  from 1967 was used exclusively for classical music. As my father only had classical music, I was used to seeing the label on records around the house.

 

I was only kidding I couldn't remember, El, my mum and dad had records with the His Master's Voice labels.

 

Summer, Bramble looks very grown up in the second pic, and she's very good at posing for pics.

I feel the same, Summer. I've loved it today, and I'm watching Andy Murray and Laura Robson in the mixed doubles atm.

It would have been lovely if Andy and Laura had won, but they did themselves proud getting the first set considering that Andy had just finished his previous match and they were up against the number 1 seeds.

 

Absolutely agree, El, they did very well in the circumstances.

Youngest son has been baking bread rolls. He has inherited his dad's cooking/baking talents, so the rolls look and smell gorgeous - I want one!

Are yoof avoiding bread? Could one small one be ok?

Or, I'll have yours! I love freshly baked bread

No, I am not totally avoiding bread, just restricting my intake.

Son says I can have one of the small ones

So long as he doesn't suggest I go for a jog to burn it off afterwards!

She was here this morning but hasn't been back since.

I think one small one won't hurt, if you have 10 we'll tell you off!

Maybe squiggle is busy, glad she was here earlier though

Now you see me now you don't, sorry I've been watching a movie - based on a Mary Higgins Clark story - quite good, I think I might like to read one of her books, I've got a couple on the shelf - this film was called Pretend You Don't See Her, about someone who sees a murder and is placed on Witness Protection.

 

So glad Andy Murray won gold, lovely pictures of Bramble earlier on.  Ben loved seeing horses in fields and they always loved to see him too it must be a natural affinity.

Well I'm off again, have a good evening everyone, after torrential rain this morning (I got soaked just getting down my drive after church despite having an umbrella up) it is now nice and sunny, hope it is where you are too -

Only one roll ???  I love the smell of fresh rolls baking, it goes round the heart it does! 

I promise I only had one, and I chose the smallest one.

Yes had a good day, was made welcome at nana,s. Took granddaughter into town and got more clothes for Eddie the Teddy, i have more money than sense! Was pouring and full of tourists. Had to buy a "rainbrella" , what she calls them !
She is now tucked up in bed having had lots and lots of cuddles. x 

A rainbrella - what a perfect name for it, and much better than umbrella.

So what little outfit did Eddie get today?

Top and jazzy jeans with a purple scarf. Granpa offered his opinion, wont say anything! 
Yes fabulous word ! I like "haircutter" too, she calls the hairdresser! Its a shame they grow up too fast.

Yogi these races are tiring me out!

You have to admit rainbrella and haircutter make more sense than the real words.

 

I am exhausted tonight - and I have hardly moved from the couch all day.

 Felt like that with Wimbledon, i was on court with Andy, i was done after the match! 

I do love the uncomplicated way kids see things, it's precious The other day a wee lad asked me for a "short, back & spiky" I'm turning in for the night, sweet dreams ladies

Kids just say it like it is!
