Evening all

Unfortunately, didn’t sleep well and back/butt is very sore. All I can say is roll on Tuesday and the physio appointment  On a positive note, MrY is doing a good job of looking after me

Hope you’ve all had a good day

Aww, sorry you didn’t sleep well last night and still feeling sore

Well done Mr Y for looking after our Yogi

Moonie

Good morning all

Forecast is light rain and breeze.

Thanks everyone, I did manage to get a couple of hours sleep

El, I hate those new notes and so do the staff in the local branch of my bank.

Have a good day, everyone

Yogi19

Did my M&S shopping early today and noticed that they have started using cream coloured plasic containers for some of their ready meals in place of black ones. That's because the cream coloured ones are recyclable whereas the black ones aren't. That change seems to have happened in the last week.

El Loro

Good morning gorgeous people I hope you’re all well and warm. Yogi, huuuuuuge hugs for you I hope you don’t have a busy schedule this weekend and Tuesday comes round quickly

it’s very cold here and windy, but with lovely blue skies

~Sparkling Summer~

Good afternoon Buddies

Cold and very breezy here. Occasional sunshine

El, those notes are horrible. I have never liked them.

Yogi, I’m glad you managed some sleep. I hope you feel a little easier as the day goes on

Sweet, I hope you and Miss Bramble have a lovely day

Leaving a ‘hello’ for squiggle

Back later

Moonie

Client emailed me tihs morning panicking as he had received a generic notification from HMRC regarding employment allowance.

I've emailed him back to reassure him - HMRC are in the process of sending the notification to all employers - it's to prompt them to review as to whether or not they should still be claiming the allowance rather than anything more sinister.

I referred him to the HMRC guidance:
https://www.gov.uk/claim-employment-allowance
and, if necessary, look at the documents on the further guidance link at the end.

Well done El, it’s always good to have positive assurance from a person who knows his job

I have  just been up the park and guess what I saw?

Swan and a cygnet

The swan looks like a male, it’s huge

The cygnet still has it’s ‘baby’ feathers but can fly or it wouldn’t have managed to get here. I dunno if I feel happy or sad in view of what happened to our family.

Okay, I feel optimistic, shall we say  🙂

The manager said after the game that he thought it was a broken leg but didn't yet know how serious. Cheltenham have another couple of goalkeepers but much less experienced than Scott Flinders.

Evening all

Thank you everyone for the hugs and good wishes.
Summer, I am taking it easy - no lifting, pushing or pulling anything of any weight.
El, that’s good news about M&S changing from black plastic

Moonie, that’s really positive news about the swans. I’m going to keep everything crossed that a new swan family adopts your pond as their home 🤞🏻🙏🏻🤗

Poor goalkeeper, I hope the broken leg heals well.

Hi Yogi

Pleased to see you’re taking it easy

I’m not to sure if the swan and cygnet should be there so soon after our family’s passing Yogi.

The cygnet looks to young to have flown in. It’s strange to see just one adult and one cygnet too.

I am going to email the guy who is in charge of the renovation of the park to see if it’s anything to do with the parks department. Failing that I am at a loss to understand how they got there

Are you worried they might pick up the illness that your swan family had?

Good morning everyone it's going to be dry but cloudy today according to the forecast.

Let's hope that's a hopeful sign Moonie and very soon there will be a healthy swan family back in the park.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning everyone

Cloudy here today. A low risk of a bit of rain at times.

Good morning everyone

A mixture of cloud and sunshine here. Ventured out into the garden not long ago. It’s cold and breezy but dry for now

Only a 5% chance of rain.

Fankoo Rosss and squiggle

That’s unusual El. It actually looks like the Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil, if you stare at it

Good morning everyone btw happy Sunday. I hope you all slept well and are in for a restful day. I’m going walking then home to do yoga, I’m taking part in a 30 day thing so I’m fully committed to doing each session. They’re only around half an hour so it’s not too time consuming

Fankoo Sweet

My sister was going past the park a few weeks ago in a taxi and she thought she spotted a swan. But I have been up a few times since then and not seen any until yesterday so they could just be visiting 🙂

Moonie, I had a similar thought when I saw that Brocken spectre image

It's referred to sometimes in literature. The best known is in Charles Dickens's Little Dorrit. From book 2 chapter 23:
‘Ah dear me the poor old room,’ said Flora, glancing round, ‘looks just as ever Mrs Clennam I am touched to see except for being smokier which was to be expected with time and which we must all expect and reconcile ourselves to being whether we like it or not as I am sure I have had to do myself if not exactly smokier dreadfully stouter which is the same or worse, to think of the days when papa used to bring me here the least of girls a perfect mass of chilblains to be stuck upon a chair with my feet on the rails and stare at Arthur—pray excuse me—Mr Clennam—the least of boys in the frightfullest of frills and jackets ere yet Mr F. appeared a misty shadow on the horizon paying attentions like the well-known spectre of some place in Germany beginning with a B is a moral lesson inculcating that all the paths in life are similar to the paths down in the North of England where they get the coals and make the iron and things gravelled with ashes!’
