I hope your quiet day goes according to plan Yogi.  Me and my grandson are into jigsaws recently, nice to do when you are just relaxing.  I used to tackle up to 2,000 pieces but can only manage about 500 pieces now, still enjoyable to do and it's nice because everyone can usually manage to spot where at least one piece goes.

I also enjoy doing jigsaws, Squiggle but 500 or 1000 piece ones are my limit.

Well done on completing 2000 piece puzzles

It's a bit sunnier here now though still more cloud than blue sky.

I thought I'd check online what HMRC was showing for a corporation tax client this morning. I wanted to make sure that they had paid the tax which was due by 6 January. (corporation tax payments are due within 9 months 1 day of the end of their accounting period so not the same as for individuals). They had paid what I had told them to pay but HMRC were saying that some tax was still outstanding.

So I looked into this and came to the conclusion that HMRC weren't allowing for the fact that the tax had been paid for the previous year and were showing this amount as outstanding for the more recent year.

So I emailed and rang the client to let them know. They have looked at their records and contacted HMRC to try to get this sorted out. It's not something I can sort out as paying tax is a client's responsibility, not mine. Also there's no agent phone number for corporation tax unlike for individuals. Chances are that the client didn't use the reference I gave them - that would explain it.

El Loro

Made the mistake of starting to watch BBC's Dracula. That was because the writers/producers had been involved with prorammes such as Doctor Who and Sherlock. Starts off with Jonathan Harker in a Budapest convent being interrogated by Sister Agatha. Didn't get much further than that. Sister Agatha's manner was not what I associate with nuns, bearing in mind that one of my late aunts was a nun.

Looking at IMDB, posters seem to either think the programme is brilliant or an atrocity - a sort of Marmite programme.
