Good morning everyone

Fair weather here today.

Yogi, yes, I hope those phone calls cease. Too soon to have heard back from British Gas, that's more likely to be late next week.

You did notice my river football clip last year but it was not a particularly interesting clip so rather forgettable

Squiggle, yes, you are the one and only Squiggle

I hope everyone has a good day

I noticed in the most recent issue of Ofcom's broadcast bulletin (which covers complaints made & other things) that Talking Pictures had a complaint for a breach of its broadcast licence - the complaint was dismissed by Ofcom. It referred to something called "Television Access Services".

I wondered what that was about and it's to do with Ofcom's requirements for channels to provide subtitles for those with impaired hearing. That doesn't apply to all channels though. BBC has to provide this for 100% of its output (not BBC Parliament), ITV and Channel 4 90%, and many of the other channels 80%. A handful of smaller channels have much smaller percentages.

Talking Pictures at present is one of those channels which isn't required to provide subtitling. That's just as well as it's such a tiny channel in comparison to many other channels and it would cause quite a cost given that the majority of its output is old programmes and films which wouldn't have had any subtitles at the time.

Good evening everyone.

Weather is cold, wet and windy - not nice.

Mr Y and I were visiting my parents today.

Squiggle, you are our one and only

El, I love the idea of tactile art, what a great idea.

The link on your manicurist post took me to the Blind Art video

Mr Y is a fan of the Talking Pictures channel. I think you may be correct on the reason why they don’t need to provide subtitles.

good evening and sweet dreams gorgeous gang what a whirlwind of a week, we’ve had terrific fun! I’ve had a terrific amount of cleaning up to do too lol but my friends are welcome anytime. They’re now safely back home and normal service is resumed here at Unicorn Central

i hope you're all well, enjoyed the heatwave and are embracing the autumnal feel that is slowly coming in. I’ve seen birds lining up to migrate and collected a pile of fallen acorns today! I love late summer/early autumn

Dream beautifully, see you tomorrow x

Good morning everyone

Cloudy here at present, a band of rain forecast to cross over later this morning, the afternoon expected to be sunnier and the temperatures a bit lower down to more typical for the time of year,

Squiggle, the meteorological autumn starts tomorrow so your trees seem to be in sync with that.

Summer, I'm glad you've had a good week at Unicorn Central

I hope everyone has a good day

El Loro
