Evening all

Youngest son and DiL are settled in their lovely new home.

I’d never been to the area, never mind the actual house, so I decided to use the satnav to get me home. It took me the β€œquickest” and country route, which wasn’t great - in pitch black and down single lane tracks. Was a little bit scary at times. Anyway, I got home eventually.

Mr Y and middle son were driving the vans and their satsnavs took them a different route.

El, I love the wildlife pics

Hi Yogi

That must have been a strange experience for you

Like something out of a horror film

Glad you made it back safely

Hi Moonie

At one point, I did wonder if that satnav had lost the plot

Funnily enough, MrY was looking at the big AA Road Atlas last week and considering buying one

Good morning it’s brighter here today, thankfully. All these grey, wet days are not fun!

I hope you’re all having a nice relaxing weekend

I’m going to get my hair highlighted  today, and highlight my friends.. it’s the only time we could both do it before Xmas then I hope to gather some moss to make my Xmas wreath, fingers cross the weather allows it. It’s alreasy stopped me twice this week!

El, that makes Strictly look like a kindergarten stroll

I thought it probably would I saw the film Hellzapoppin many years ago and remembered that scene so when I saw mention of the Lindy Hop I thought I'd post it. The film is one of the craziest films ever made, I wouldn't call it a good film. but still very watchable. One of the credits for the film is "any similarity between Hellzapoppin and a motion picture is purely coincidental"

I had heard of that film El but never actually watched it. I wonder how many β€˜takes’ it took too do all those dance sequences

The film had been a Broadway production beforehand. The production included the Harlem Congaroos and they were the ones doing that Lindy Hop routine. So I think it quite likely that it was done in one take. If you watch closely, during the time the first couple are dancing, the ribbon in her hair comes loose, she removed it into her hand before dropping it amd you see it on the ground. If they had been doing lots of takes, that section would have been reshot.
