Good morning everyone

A bit of rain here yesterday evening but not amounting to much, it's quite sunny here and is warm.

Yogi, I think the rabbit had been hoping to find some lettuce in the bank not realising that the old Β£1 notes aren't around any more

I hope everyone has a good day

 Perhaps, El.

Good morning everyone.

A cloudy start to the day.

Got to catch up on housework in my own house today.

Have a good day, all

Good morning everyone, a dry morning after quite a bit of rain yesterday evening, the lawns definitely needed it.  I wonder whether it was a pet rabbit or a wild rabbit?  I can't imagine a wild rabbit entering a building.

Enjoy your day everyone

Son said the chap who took it away was going to ask around to see if anyone had lost a pet rabbit, before releasing it.

El, I like how the police came to the rescue for the bride

It’s circa 80’s when I was visiting Bonny Scotland, Glasgow and Edinburgh

Aww, shame we didn’t know each other then, you could have nipped in for a cuppa and a cake

Good morning I’m baaaaaack!!!! Literally! Phew

sunny but cooler here today, I’m going to throw open the windows and doors and catch up on some jobs. Then I’m taking my mum out shopping for a few bits for her new place, she’s doing well with her unpacking and has gone to get to know the local church today. I know she’ll be made very welcome there

i hope you all have a lovely day too

~Sparkling Summer~

Afternoon all

Squiggle, your weather sounds better than mine, as it is cloudy, misty and very light rain up here.

Spent the morning at my parents’ doing housework for them. Now I need to get on with my own.

Summer, I’m glad your mum is settling in well and i’m sure she will be made very welcome at church.

El. MrY has already been on the phone to Virgin to voice our displeasure at the loss of UKTV channels - 10channels in all!

Apparently, negotiations are still ongoing.

Sweet, glad your mum’s unpacking is  going well

Yogi and El, my Virgin Media tv, landline, broadband is up for renewal so I shall be going into negotiations too

I haven’t really took a comprehensive look at what channels have gone yet. I have noticed the odd one though.

Drama I used to like for the odd programme.

Virgin changed my mobile contract. Was not pleased about that to much. I did manage to negotiate it down to less than it was before. They had given me 10gb  of data, more than twice as much as I used to have. So I told them I didn’t use the original amount. They changed it from 10gb to 5gb and took Β£3 pounds off the monthly total, so a result for me

Hope all are in fine fettle      I might have got this wrong reading between the lines but Sweet if your mum has relocated locally to you I think that's great

These television providers always have an angle - one or two channels have disappeared off Sky too. Mainly +1's although Fox News going was no great loss. It's the age old model of reducing their costs whilst increasing yours.

Virgin v Sky comes down to who you support really. Branson's space programme or Murdoch's upkeep of Jerry Hall.

Have a nice day everyone

Yogi, the strange thing is that quite a number of the channels which have gone from Virgin are ones which have been on Freeview for ages

Seems Virgin wanted all the UKTV programmes for free and UKTV wanted Virgin to pay for UK Gold (which is not on Freeview). Virgin refused and they couldn’t reach an agreement, so UKTV have withdrawn all of their programmes from Virgin, including the free ones.

Well done on getting a better deal on your mobile contract

BTW, 10 UKTV channels have gone, including Drama, Alibi, UK Gold, Really, W, Yesterday, Eden and Good Food

I saw a trailer on BBC1 about the film "Florence Foster Jenkins" which they will be showing some time. (Meryl Streep/Hugh Grant) Biopic of an American heiress well known in the 1920s, 30s and into the 40s who had pretensions of being a great opera singer even though her singing was not good, and some even regarded her as the worst opera singer in the world.

I don't know if Orson Welles had her in mind in his film Citizen Kane. In the film, he virtually bullies Susan, one of his wives in it, to being an opera singer. This is the result:

The one channel that Sky removed that annoyed me was ITV London in amongst the regional terrestrial variations. Can you get that on Virgin?
