Yogi, I hope you had a good time with your unexpected visitors

I did thanks, El.

How has your day been, are you managing to stay cool?

It's been busy with client work. Reasonably straightforward work. It's been very warm here but I don't think as hot as some places. As I've mentioned before, many years ago I had an overactive temperature which meant that, before I had treatment, it felt a lot warmer than it really was. So, in comparison, this is quite bearable. I do drink more water though to keep hydrated.

That’s interesting, El, as Mr Y always feels hot and permanently has a fan on him, even in the winter. Everyone else in the family will agree it’s cold and he’ll be the only person feeling hot. We’ve always joked that he is a bit weird  but never considered it might be a medical issue.

Yogi, with an overactive thyroid there are other symptoms which would have been picked up at a visit to the doctors - such as high blood pressure and fast heart rate. There can also be trembling - my vicar at the time thought I might have Parkinsons which I didn't. Also one loses weight even if one is eating more.

If the only symptom is being hot then it could be that Mr Y is in very good physical shape with significant muscle mass meaning that his resting metabolism is high making him feel hot.

If you or he have any concerns then a visit to his doctor would make sense.

No, I don't think that’s the case but he might just have a high metabolic rate

When I was shopping in Cheltenham in the High Street I noticed a closed shipping container in the road with a notice referring to a virtual reality orchestra. I realised that this would be part of the annual music festival which starts today.

This is what would be showing. Obviously it's not completely the same as we are seeing it as a video rather than being immersed in virtual reality. It is one of those 3D ones which one can move up and down, left and right.

The first movement of Beethoven's 5th is an out of this world experience:

For more information as to the orchestra, conductor, and who and why is responsible for making this an out of this world experience look at the info on the clip:

Afternoon all.

It’s another sunny day.

El, I listened to all three pieces earlier this morning. I’ve always liked Beethoven’s 5th and enjoyed Mahler’s 8th but the other one was awful - I only listened for the first seven minutes and that was enough

Have a good day, all

Seven minutes was enough for me too. You might have noticed that I didn't describe it as music as to me cacophony isn't music

I found this quote about cacophony:
"Not more unutterable could have been the chaos of hellish sound if the pit itself had opened to release the agony of the damned, for in one inconceivable cacophony was centered all the supernal terror and unnatural despair of animate nature. " (which is in a H P Lovecraft horror story).
which seems quite apt

I noticed, El.

I may not know a lot about music but I know rubbish when I hear it.
