Good morning everyone

It’s raining up here. El, please send me some of your sunshine until my boat building is finished.

I’m glad you had a good time, Summer.

Off to the vet’s today. Discovered an odd looking patch of skin on Keira back last night and a full inspection revealed some inflammation in one of her ears - neither were there a few days ago. Poor girl has had a bad year, it feels like one health issue after another. Old age can be rubbish for dogs as well as people.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone, the rain's gone and now it's very windy.  Oh no poor Keira, I hope all goes well at the vets Yogi and it's something and nothing.

Enjoy your day everyone

Sends some sunshine to Yogi though I may need some back tomorrow as it's forecast to be rain all day

Poor Keira, I hope all goes well at the vets

Squiggle, sounds as if you could find your house blown towards the East.

Thank you, both

It is some sort of yeast infection causing both problems. Retrievers tend to have very hot and waxy ears due to them flopping over. Hard as I try to keep Keira’s clean, she sometimes gets an infection. She now has a bald patch on her back - the Vet said she had been biting because it was itchy ,which had caused a little bit of scabbing. Nothing serious, thank goodness! She was given an anti-inflammatory injection and an antibiotic injection and we have got ear drops to give her twice a day. Lovely Vet and he was delighted at how well she had recovered from the vestibular disease.

Yogi, that's great news about Keira and I hope the yeast infection will quickly clear. I had wondered if the ear infection and bald patch were connected, but that would have been just me speculating

On something totally unrelated, we sometimes use the phrase "moot point" to describe something which is open to question such as whether the chicken or the egg came first, Historically "moot" was an assembly gathered together to discuss or debate something, Nowadays we would decribe that as a meeting (as used in "annual general meeting").

The patch wasn’t bald till the Vet shaved it but you were certainly right that the two were connected, El.

I had no idea of the origins of β€œmoot”. I love that I learn things in here.

How very strange. I posted in here and and Darnies earlier and both have disappeared

That's very strange Can you remember roughly the time you made those posts?

It was the same time as when I posted in the  Crib El, about 5 hours ago...

I can see your post in the Crib at 12.56 and then your next is in the Stuff that isn't worthy thread at 13.13. There was no other activity on the forum in terms of postings of likes between those times. I was having my lunch at that time so wouldn't have seen anything. I can't draw anything from there being no activity as that's not unusual here at that time of day. You could ask Lori if she has any idea as to what might have happened though there would be no way in which whatever you posted could be retrieved.

Yogi, I.m glad Keira's inlammation is subsiding

Moonie, I did venture out to go to the bank and do my shopping (nothing exciting). It's not very pleasant out there.

Summer, the highlight of my day (so far ) is to bank a cheque from a client. The client will be 150 years old next year and judging from the account number on the cheque (same bank and branch as mine) the account may well have been opened then. The client is a member's society, not a person, just in case you thought it was a person

Hi El

You and I are brave because we have both been out

You was right about it being cold but the extra layer of clothing helped me

Well done Moonie on braving the cold weather and I hope you are enjoing the Aussie football

Have you ever watched Gaelic football? Sort of cross between basketball but with a goal net rather thn a basket, rugby but much less violent, and played with a soccer ball. Played well, it's rather exciting.

I have indeed El, certainly different

I like Aussie rules foodball, as they call it too

I voted for Susan, Joe & Alex. I hope Ruth goes this week but I’m worried it could be anyone! *bites nails* I definitely need the spoiler tonight

My day was good thanks. Had visits earlier in the day, from eldest and middle sons.

Ruth needs to go but I doubt she will. Just hope we don’t lose Joe or Davood - hoping for an earlier spoiler this week 🀞🏻
