Good morning everyone, a dry and cloudy morning. I can hear motorbike noises so I guess they are having the annual motorbike scramble at the farm just up the road.

Where we used to live was on the path of one of the Guide Dogs for The Blind training routes so we used to see them being trained all the time, very interesting.

I was listening to Don Black the other morning, and he played Barbra Streisand 'People'. Her voice does sound very sweet when she's singing that song and I had the window open, I could see quite a few birds flying in and perching in the trees, the only conclusion I can come to is that they were coming to listen!

Enjoy your day everyone

Back from church and, as expected, no rain. The main road must have been opened than stated as traffic was there as normal.

Yogi, I hope whatever you do does involve food as otherwise you'd starve

Squiggle, there's a woman who lives in my area who has been in the area for longer than me and has been with a guide dog throughout that time. Always a golden retriever - that seems to be the breed of choice.

Good evening crikey, that's a striking dog indeed! Did you stroke him?

I'm glad you had a nice walk and that it stayed dry today El

my walk was dry too and it just started to rain as I got back home, I had a bath and then needed a nap bramble woke me and I fed her, but I've come back to bed for an early night because I'm still tired

i hope you've all had a good day

Good morning everyone

A damp day here and not very warm.

As I've mentioned before, many years ago we were on Leckhampton Hill, scrambling down a slope when my mother shouted out to me to stop immediately as I was going down towards a nest of baby adders. Elsewhere I have seen grass snakes - they are harmless.

I hope everyone has a good day

Hi El

I have just been out and there is rain in the air again after a little sunshine

The front room is a disaster zone and they haven't even started yet. Still waiting for the letter to say when that will be

They get a few more days then I am off down to see them again

Re the pink rainbow:

BBC Weather presenter Simon King said there was no specific name for the phenomenon, which was caused by a regular rainbow and a pink sunset happening at the same time.

"We've got a regular rainbow, which is caused by water droplets in the atmosphere reflecting the sunlight into the spectrum of different colours," he said.

"The other thing is a pinkish sunset caused by sunlight having to pass through a lot more atmosphere - due to the low sun angle late in the day - hence the shortwave colours - violets, blues, greens - are diminished and we only see the pinks and reds, giving the rainbow a pinkish colour."
