Good morning everyone

Fair weather here at present.

Yogi, I'm glad you were able to do what you wanted without getting drowned
There's little doubt that we are meant to feel sympathy for that young priest. He is probably Polish as although a British ad it was shot in Poland to give the feel of the 1920s there. The main priest in the ad was Zbigniew Zamachowsk who was in the Three Colours trilogy.

Summer, well done on your card success Can't say I've ever come across Uno.

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning, everyone

It's wet and miserable weather, up here.

Well done on winning at cards, Summer. I'm rubbish at cards, so rarely play.

El, I didn't realise the ad was filmed in Poland.

When we were in Krakow a few years ago, I saw more priests and nuns in a few days, than I've seen in the rest of my life.

Off to visit my parents this morning. Have a good day, everyone.

One of the delights of the Talking Pictures channel is that it can show some very rare programmes/films. For instance this evening at 20.30 it's showing a 1955 short film called The Bespoke Overcoat. It's a ghost story based on a story by the Russian writer Nikolai Gogol. It was directed by Jack Clayton and won the Oscar for best short film. The American film critic Pauline Kael called it "one of the best short-story films ever made"

Summer, I'm glad you have some pleasant weather and have the chance to relax this weekend

On Sunday morning I will be walking to and from church in the morning. Driving won't be an option as the main road between me and there is closed off to traffic for the mornng. It's because of the local marathon and half marathon. We are a bit puzzled as to why the road is being closed as the marathon doesn't go down that road or across that road but it's still being closed. The road does end on the marathon route but that's further on from where the church is. Luckily for me I often walk to church and the forecast for Sunday is for a dry day. Not too hot so a good day for the marathon to be run.

Yogi, the clip looked as if the fox got away at the end. It should have been at Leicestershire as the side is called Leicestershire Foxes.

Sounds as if you're in for a relaxing weekend

Velvet, I hope you have a good weekend as well

I remember we used to have an FM with the user name Littleleicesterfox.

Fingers crossed for that relaxing weekend.

Good morning Buddies

I thought I should pop in to let you know I am still alive and kicking

Eye problems this time but much better now

Well, my front room floor problems seem to be much closer to being resolved, finally

The tiles have been removed, several weeks ago, inspector came last Wednesday. He said he was gonna recommend a new floor. There is no other choice tbh.

I said, I hope it will be done before Christmas, he said, it will be done within 30 days

We shall see. I am a sceptic where my council are concerned

Have a lovely weekend peeps

Yogi, I'm sure you'll find something to do today - it must be at least a day since you visited the garden centre

Moonie, I'm not suprised the inspector decided on a new floor and I hope it does get done within the 30 days and that the result is satisfactory

Squiggle, I hope you get the sunshine

Talking Pictures have a couple of excellent films this evening. Odd Man Out at 19.20 and Quest for Love at midnight. OML is James Mason's best film. Injured Irish gunman on the run - could be regarded as a film noir almost verging on horror. QFL I've mentioned before. Although described as science fiction, that gives the wrong impresson and really is a love story. Joan Collins's best film and although the initial impression is that she's like what you tend to think, that soon changes and she's very likeable.

Avoid the M5 in Gloucestershire today, Lorry and car/caravan collided causing a spillage of lots of flour and diesel. Clearing up still continuing. Another 2 car collision near Gloucester causing 2 lanes closed in the other direction. A third one has noe been cleared - a single car carrying a boat. Not aware of serious injuries.

Afternoon all

The weather has been changeable with sunshine and light showers. We managed to get the back lawn cut and do some tidying up in the garden. Front lawn doesn't grow as fast as the back, so it can wait a few days.

lol El, I don't think I've been in a garden centre for over a week!

Glad to hear there don't appear to have been any serious injuries in those crashes.

Squiggle, I hope some sunshine appeared for you

Moonie, good to see you That's positive news about your floor. Fingers crossed they do the work within the quoted 30 days.

The Guide Dog for the Blind was doing a fundraiser in my local supermarket so I purchased him
He is a Labrador puppy with a bib on his back that says "Guide dog puppy in training"

As he is a man dog, in my eyes, I have named him "Keiron" in honour of another Labrador we all know and love

I thought this was such a sweet story - the only downside is that I hate dogs being kept on a chain

Just like humans, dogs form friendships too. Some are chill relationships, some are playful. And some are just plain adorable, like Messy and Audi’s friendshipâ€Ķeven though they never have actually met face to face.

Messy’s owner, Oranit Kittragul noticed that when Audi was left outside alone, he would cry nonstop. She felt bad for the little guy, so she decided to let Messy out to provide comfort.

But when she let him out, Messy barked a little, and somehow, it helped calm Audi down.

“I don’t know what they are communicating. But he stops crying,” said Kittragul.

And that’s just what they did almost every day. And every day, Messy never failed to make Audi feel way better.

But then one day, the unexpected happened. Audi ended up getting loose from his chain, and ran right up to Messy. But Audi didn’t attack him or bark at him. Instead, he jumped up right where Messy was, and embraced him in a hug.

And now the photo of their embrace is going viral! And how could it not? It is one of the absolute sweetest things ever!

“My purpose is just to share a nice photo and story,” said Kittragul, who was surprised to see how much attention her photo got.

And although they haven’t actually gotten to play together, Kittragul said that she sometimes will bring Messy to visit Audi in front of his house. Which of course seemed like the best solution. That way both of them get to see each other, and give sweet hugs.
