Afternoon all all my errands and chores are now done

pest control have been and I found it fascinating. I've learned a lot about wasps and bees today. We can't be 100% certain but it's highly likely that it is wasps I have in the roof, they've been treated with powder and I just need to keep an eye on the area over the next couple of weeks, another application of powder may be needed.

I havent had any referendum phone calls either.

Are you all having a good day?

~Sparkling Summer~

Evening all.

We had a nice evening with youngest son and his fiancÃĐe.

Summer, I hope that the powder sorts out the wasp problem.

Squiggle, I've had a few leaflets about the EU referendum but no phone calls or canvassers on the doorstep.

I know what I'd with those spammers!

Moonie, I know you don't watch the England games, but have you enjoyed the rest of the football?

El, lol at the wasp song.

Good morning everyone

Cloudy here, there's been a bit of light rain this morning, may be dry for the rest of the day though there  is a lot of rain forecast to the west of me not that far away so that could move closer here.

Welcome back Yogi

Ros, Faure's Requiem is possibly my favourite piece of classical music and full of wonderful beautiful music

It is gorgeous EL

Good morning everyone

Rather cloudy here, probably dry but there's a chance of a bit of light rain.

Yogi, I'm glad you had a nice evening with your youngest son and fiancÃĐe
When Social Strata did their big forum changes at one stage the special character bit of the menu had been removed. I raised this as a flaw in their design as I knew that words such as fiancÃĐe with the accent were widely used outside France and so they put the special character back in.

Ros, Faure's Pavane is gorgeous as well, and there are optional choral lyrics for the orchestral version. It's about 6 minutes long so an attractive extra to the complete requiem.

I hope everyone has a good day

Moin!

For the record we average about three spam telephone calls a day.

We haven't heard from anyone on the sub continent for weeks since our computers are all doing well. We've had at least a dozen pamphlets. Our Brexit Tory Councillor came to the door but we didn't answer it. Our other Tory Councillor whom I know quite well is a remainer but hasn't been round. Our Tory MP is definitely a leaver!

In my area we have green wheelies for garden material. If there's something like a thick prickly bramble I cut it off, carry it to the wheelie by holding it with the shears, place it inside the wheelie, and cut it up then. That way, I don't need to touch it with my hands. Not so easy though where you are having to bag it up.

Summer, I totally agree with you about stolen dogs , My day is busy but not as hectic as yesterday. I do have another client meeting in the early evening but it should be straightforward.

HMRC seem to be quite early about sending out the tax bills as the tax isn't due until the end of next month. I discovered something about the class 2 NI. As you may know that's now built into the tax bill. We had thought that the class 2 NI would get built into the January and July payments on account but HMRC changed that recently. It's now payable by the 31 January after the end of the tax year though still paid along with the tax.

My accounting software has corrected that but it has meant that I've had to contact clients where I had already sent in the tax returns with a revised tax payment schedule. The overall amount of tax remains the same. HMRC has amended its site for this. The most immediate effect is for anyone who had already filed a tax return and their tax for 2015/16 is less than for 2014/15 so that the July 2016 liability is lower than the default amount. The tax due to be paid in July now excludes the class 2 NI and that is payable in January (ÂĢ145-60). So for anyone in that position, if they get the bill from HMRC and it's ÂĢ145-60 less than expected, that's why. (it will be a bit more than ÂĢ145.60 because of getting an interest supplement).

To anyone who doesn't do self employment tax returns, the above won't mean much, but to those who do, it will

I've been unable to contact my brother about the flooding in his area. I think it's because of many areas in London are without power. He doesn't live near a river which is what has caused flooding in parts of his area so he's probably OK. Normally he would have gone out today to the place where he does voluntary work but I think it likely he would have stayed at home.

Evening all, just a flying visit

PB wasn't very well today, she had a temperature and a tummy bug. I took her home a bit early to DiL and she slept until 7pm. She seems to be on the mend since she woke up.

El, I'm glad your brother wasn't badly affect by the flash floods.

Off to clean my kitchen floor before I go to bed.

Goodnight and sweet dreams, everyone.

There's some blue sky here

Yogi, I hope PB gets better very quickly

Thanks all regarding my brother not getting hit by the bad weather

My client meeting last evening was straightforward. She's the client who thinks my voice is like Hugh Grant's (it's not).

Another client meeting this morning, should be a straightforward one.

I hope everyone has a good day
