Good afternoon

Just a quickie because I'm really hungry and hope to cram in a workout DVD before I eat.
I've been spring cleaning, hoovering and have done 3 loads of washing *high 5 moonie* I think the first lot on the line is almost dry now.

The meal last night was delicious!

El, I wonder if that was a bit of a domestic you witnessed

Squiggle I hope grandson is coping alright in the heat

Have a lovely Sunday lunch everyone back in a bit

Yogi, it's lovely to see you back when will you catch up with PB?
~Sparkling Summer~

Good afternoon, all.

Squiggle, I think your grandson is right to postpone his dental appointment for a while. Will he need a lot of physio beforehe can use the arm properly again?

El, I hope last night's shenanigans were nothing more than a heated argument and things can get back to normal.

Moonie, well done on getting your lawns done. Hubby has been mowing our back lawn, which was very long. If the weather is dry tomorrow, I will do the front lawn - it doesn't grow half as fast as the back lawn.

Summer, you have been a busy bee! No idea when I will next see PB, but I think I may be on minding duties one day this week. I'll need to text DiL for the rest of PB and Harvey's minding dates for May.

Have a good day, everyone.

I'm back from church. I asked someone at church, who lives 2 doors away from the house where the disturbance was, as to how she was this morning. She was unaware as to what had happened as she was in the back of her bungalow in the extension which is sound proofed.

I don't know what caused the disturbance. I didn't hear loud music which indicates that it wasn't a party which had got out of hand. If it was a domestic it seems odd that there were at least a dozen people involved.

If I ever find out I'll let you know but the chances are that I won't.

I think my grandson will need a lot of physio Yogi, he has a letter to take in to the local cottage hospital and then we'll find out more, but I think it will probably take months.

Strike while the weather is hot Squiggle

I do hope your grandson recovers very soon

Evening all

We've been to a fascinating beekeeping demonstration

El, it sounds like that whatever went on last night wasn't too serious then

Squiggle I wish your grandson a speedy rehabilitation
How's the plans for the pond going?

Moonie, your home must be spotless after all your recent laundry

Yogi, I hope you're enjoying being back in your own home after your holiday. Is Kiera a happy girl?

As El said, tell your grandson to persevere with the physio. It may take a while but it will be worth all the effort in the end.

Moonie, if you run out of things to wash, I'll happily send my washing down to you.

Got to sign out early tonight but I'll be back tomorrow.

Hugs for the night owls.

You just caught me.

It's always nice to be back home and Keira was very pleased to be have us back - even though she was thoroughly spoilt at my mum and dad's.

Hope you've had a good day and speak with you tomorrow.

Good morning everyone, still a nice morning but a little hazier.  An unsettled week ahead I think.  Off to run my grandson to see the consultant later, I will probably have a bit of a chuck out while he's in the hospital and run down the tip with a couple of old garden chairs that I no longer use.

I hope you get the lawn mowed before the showers come Yogi.  Enjoy your day everyone.

You mean you're going to burn a hole in your clothes?

Enjoy your orange juice and may the force be with you when you start your ironing

Noooo, not burning the clothes, just ironing them (hopefully!).

Talking of clothes and fires reminded me of this incident many many years ago. This was told to me by my mother. When i was a baby our house at that time was heated by a coal fire. They kept a fireguard around the fire for safety. One day my mother hung some wet clothes on the fireguard to dry them. She left the room with me in the room in my high chair. She suddenly heard me crying, dashed back into the room to find that the clothes were on fire ans was able to extinguish them. My prompt action had prevented the house from being set on fire.

well done El

Moonie

What a lovely story EL, what a clever baby you were

I dodged the showers, some of them were really heavy.  The consultant was very pleased with my grandson, the pain has gone completely now, thank goodness.  She changed his dressing and gave him a couple of spare ones - he is very particular about keeping things clean.  She showed him the results of his scan and evidently there was a huge muscle that was supposed to be attached to his shoulder which was just hanging free.

The garden chairs were only plastic but quite heavy so I asked for help up the tip and the guy said 'no problem love' and then did nothing   Luckily a lovely guy in another car asked whether I needed a hand and took both chairs and put them in the skip for me, up some steep metal stairs which I would have struggled with.  What a gent!

that sounds really worse than can be imagined Squiggle. Glad he seems to be on the mend though

It just goes to show there are still some gentlemen about. Good on him

Moonie

Squiggle, I'm glad your grandson's shoulder is receovering well. That muscle which had become detached frim his shoulder reminded me of the vicar who used to be at our church. he retired something like 10 years ago. He was very overweight and about a year before he retired a muscle in his leg was torn off. The pain was so bad that he had to have ultra-strong painkillers for a short time.

Well done to that man who helped you with those chairs

Some news from the BBC this afternoon about the fourth series of Call the Midwife. As we know, Jessica Raine as the younger Jennifer Worth left the series at the end of the third series. However Vanessa Redgrave as the older Jennifer Worth will continue to narrate the series. The fourth series will be set in 1960 and will have 8 episodes and will be shown next year.

There will be a Christmas special this year. I don't know how they will work it into the script but the special will have Vanessa Redgrave appearing as the older Jennifer Worth.

Lark Rise to Candleford actress Linda Bassett and Fresh Meat's Charlotte Ritchie are also joining the cast for the fourth series as Nurse Phyllis Crane and Nurse Barbara Gilbert respectively.

Linda Bassett was Queenie Turill in Lark Rise:
