A dry and fairly cloudy day is forecast here. Apart from a bit of light rain on Thursday/Friday the weather in my area does eeem to have become a lot more settled than it has been. Gives the ground a chance to dry out.

I'll be going back to the dentist shortly for my tooth to be crowned, the temporary one I've had for the last couple of weeks hasn't caused any problems.

 

Good morning everyone, I hope all goes well at the dentist EL.  I am sure it's going to be a lovely day Yogi taking PB to celebrate your Mum's birthday.  Summer I hope today is going to be less mentally draining and I am pleased your pancake day and time with friends went so well.  Moonie I am glad there are no bills to pay and I hope the sun is shining on you today.

 

Off to M & S grocery shopping with my daughter soon, then we have to have those two tyres fitted and then fill up with petrol and take the car through the car wash, I have just put new car mats in, very smart grey with red piping as the interior of the car is grey and the car is red and it will be nice to have it looking smart and shiny again.

El, good luck at the dentist, I hope your crown feels lush after (I like how smooth mine is)

I'm back from the dentist complete with new crown. Procedure went smoothly and was done in much less time than the 45 minutes allowed. We think that the damage to my tooth may have been caused by accidentally biting on peach stones rather than me grinding my teeth. I can't drink or eat anything for another hour to allow the cement enough time to harden.

 

Squiggle, I hope you get what you want with your M&S shopping and congrats on your new car mats.

Great stuff El I hope you can eat lunch as normal. Did the dentist recommend flossing around it? I found mine ached after a few days if I didn't floss, it's a bacteria thing apparently so now I always floss at night

I have car envy of you because mine's just clocked 80k and has rust in places- I can't imagine him being around as long as your car. He's the nicest thing I've ever driven though so I'll keep him going as long as I possibly can

Summer, I should be able to have lunch as normal in about an hour. My dentist advised me against cracking nuts in my mouth and chewing toffees for the next 24 hours. I think I can survive that long

 

I use TePe interdental brushes but those have the same effect as flossing, I also use Corsodyl Daily mouthwash which reduces plaque bacteria. By the way the Dail Mail scare story a few weeks ago about Corsodyl raising the risk of heart attacks and strokes was referring to the range for treating gum disease which should only be used on a short term basis. The one I use is about 30% of the strength of that one and is intended for long term daily use.

I know them, those little brushes are good fun I've had the orange handled ones before

Mine are the blue ones which are a bit wider than the orange ones.

I've just returned from visiting the church treasurer to go through what I've done regarding my annual church accounts check. All straightforward work and no problems.

 

My car's mileage is only just over 40k Summer so it really is a baby when you look at mileage.  I had it undersealed last year so I am hopeful to keep it on the road for a few years yet.

 

I am glad your dentist visit went without a hitch EL, I also use the TeePee brushes, the pink and the orange suit me.

Squiggle, my car mileage is a bit less than yours but is just over 10 years old.

 

It's doing very well EL, are you able to keep it garaged?  I don't have a garage but I am doing my best.  The guy who bought the car from new is thrilled too that it's still going strong, it makes me glad to know that he is pleased

Evening all. I've had a lovely day with PB, and my mum and dad were delighted to spend some time with her in the morning. As always, she was on good form and a happy wee soul. Youngest son popped in for a visit in the afternoon (I'm sure he has a PB radar and always manages to co-ordinate his visits with hers). 

I'm glad all went well at the dentist, El.
