Very sad news. He seemed to be a good man in real life and came across as very likeable on chat shows.

R.I.P Sir Roger Moore

Yes, he did not seem to be bothered about being a 'big star' and just did what pleased him. Probably the best way to be.

Yes ....I remember first watching  him in Ivanhoe and Maverick on the TV ....and then in the Saint .

 Yes.

I still smile remembering his puppet on Spitting Image [ it was very affectionately done ].

That raised eyebrow of his, was a legend in its own right!!!

Not my fave Bond, but enjoyed some of his era films.

I also enjoyed the Persuders with Tony Curtis - nearly forgot about that.

Ditto on both counts.

Film-wise: it will always be Sean as Bond for me, but Moore's "North Sea Hijack" remains one of my "guilty pleasures"...

TV-wise: I remember him in "The Saint", but "The Persuaders" was my favourite too.

And as others have said, he seemed a really decent bloke who had many diverse interests. One of the odder memories I'll have of him was seeing him frequently in the audience at the Vienna Philharmonic's New Year's Day concert...
