Man on the radio just now saying that he had been amazed to get a vaccine invite as he's not in the groups being contacted at this time. So he rang his GP to enquire. They looked into it and came back to him.

They had made a mistake in recording his height. Instead of recording it at 6 foot 2 inches they had entered 6.2 centimetres. The result was that his BMI was calculated at around 28000

He declined the vaccine invite for the time being so that someone else could have it.

I hope FMs don't mind me jumping in for a quick personal update:

After being concerned at the start of week that I might not qualify for the "underlying health conditions" grouping after all, I got an invitation to book a first vaccination on Wednesday, and am due to get the jab tomorrow (Sat) afternoon.

In even better news; my parents are due to get their second jab on Monday.

Hope all went well for you

Yes thanks, Jewels.

All went very smoothly - no actual queue at the vaccination centre; just a steady stream of people passing through. No real side-effects either, other than a bit of a throb (I wouldn't go as far as to actually call it painful) in my upper arm for a few hours. I'm still keeping the weight off that arm to be on the safe side, but otherwise; roll on 2nd jab in May!

I got a letter inviting me for a vaccination,

"Our records show that you are a carer for someone who is clinically vulnerable to COVID and you are therefore eligible ..."

So i went on-line only to be asked if i was in a vulnerable group and/or if the GP had contacted me etc etc . . .

Ending in  "There are no appointments available for you've LOL. So called 119 and they said try again tomorrow cos I should get one as soon as a space is available.

Phew

I know they said the 40 to 49 age group would be next, but I think they also said that group wouldn't be started on until mid April. Up here I don't really expect to get ny first jab until May-ish. Do you think they can co-ordinate his 2nd jab and my 1st jab to be on the same day, at the same venue and at approximately the same time? Then we wouldn't have to make more than one journey!

That would be a sensible thing to do but........

Ummmmm ....that would require someone in power  to have an ounce of common sense , so my guess would be *not a hope* EFFT

Mr. Fluffy Thing had his first jab on Wednesday past. No second date given, just told that a new invitation will be sent to him closer to the time.

Should be in May.

Same for me. When I got my first jab, there'd been no mention at all about  second dates throughout the process, so I tried to force it by saying "Well; I'll see you in 3 months, then." as I got up to go to the rest area. The response was that I should get the second dose in 10-12 weeks (which essentially means the first half of May...)

It may just be down to regional variations, but I'd like to think that the early confirmation of Saint's 2nd jab is a sign that his situation is finally being taken more seriously...
