I think a National Treasure must be instantly recognisable by the general public.

Why not Biggins?

I agree with Gordon Buchanan and David Jason.

Can we do posthumous ones - then I could nominate the wonderful and much missed Victoria Wood.

I was pondering that but it's very easy to give posthumous awards - we could go back a long way

So hope everyone is ok with the living?

Is Gordon Buchanan well known enough, do you think?

Guaranteed up to now . . . (with flexibility)

1 Joanna Lumley

2 David Jason

3 David Attenborough

More suggestions:

Gloria Hunniford, Floella Benjamin, Virginia Wade, Trevor McDonald, Michael Palin, Ian McKellan, Ranulph Fiennes

Ok..........I have decided.......

I love you lot........add your own names to the list and be done with it....

We can all attend the 'Pinning of the medals'.....

And come back and moan about who was 'pricked' the hardest!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!

Posthumously, Rick Mayle, George Micheal both good guys

Danny Dyer - for being a top cocknee geeza

Queen's Brian May - for speaking out for environmental issues and against injustices.

Girl called Jack [Monroe], for being a down to Earth single mother who became famous for her recipes on a shoestring, an outspoken voice against poverty

Prof Brian Cox for being able to articulate complex scientific theories so the layman can understand.

Joanna Lumley pushed the stupid Thames Garden Bridge, costing London taxpayers millions for nothing in return.  No thanks!

Oh. I know. Emma Willis. Not for Big Brother, or any other TV show ... but for the M&S Christmas ads. I fell a little bit in love with her!!

Emma Willis for being sophisticated looking, sexy and having a potty mouth!

Carny - National Treasure is someone people in general take to their hearts.

Corbyn was squashed - by the people.

Here's one . . . .

LESLIE PHILIPS

 - the people will see the error of their ways one day
