I think he was pretty soft on him to be honest Velvet, BBC never seem to pull him up on his lies. In fact in all my years I have never seen so many lies from one party from top to bottom. He's so far refused three debates, lied blatantly every time he opens his mouth and to be fair the BBC reporting or lack of it over the years has led to it being acceptable.

@Dame_Ann_Average @velvet donkey

I missed it this morning as I was out and about. Really wanted to watch! Catup for me.

My biggest reason for watching was that I was hearing some disturbing reports that the fatal violent situation in London on Friday was being politicised. Given the massive cuts in policing, I think it is a disgrace that any politician could even think about using it for electoral gain.

You'd be right EC, Johnson sent out a 16 post thread that was actually plagarised from @SectretBarrister, plus Pritti Patel was quick to try and make political gain. It's a shame the country seems to think if it comes out of the mouth of the BBC or right wing press it's true. This is the state of the country now ...led by corrupt people that are never questioned when they spout lies.

Any chance that  can quickly ask Boris Johnson why he is plagiarising the work of legal bloggers?

Pritti Patel

The Parole Board could not be involved in this decision . Your party changed the law in 2008 so that Khan was automatically released irrespective of the danger he posed. Very concerning that you want to be PM but don’t understand this.

some legal replies

Many types of sentence have long been available to courts to ensure that dangerous offenders were not automatically released. It is a lie to claim that the courts had no choice but to pass sentences that resulted in automatic release at the halfway point.

********

No - as Sky News are reporting, it was the Tories who changed the rules. Under the 2008 change, only a parole board could have released him. It was Tory changes in 2012 that have let terrorists free onto the streets. You should resign - you reduced the threat level

********

Usman Khan was released under a sentencing regime which no longer exists

Johnson’s manifesto says not a single word about current Extended Sentences.

The minor changes he has proposed to automatic release would not have applied to Khan.

Exploitative, dishonest, cynical.

Another lie. On a day when campaigning has supposedly been suspended, the Cabinet, from PM to Home Secretary to ministers, is out in force telling flagrant lies about the criminal justice system to score cheap points out of people’s deaths. What a country we live in.

I don’t think anybody should be trying to politicise such a dreadful situation .  But then I’ve not slept all night so I’m feeling a mite touchy this morning

Im no fan of Johnson (apart from the fact that he wants Brexit to get completed) but Marr never allowed Johnson to answer a question. It's customary to allow the interviewee to participate in an interview...it makes for a better show to watch.

Andrew Marr, like all the BBC  "woke" producers and broadcasters, hate the Tory's and are anti Brexit, in the extreme, so fairness and balance has been lost.

Marr is a well known leftist Marxist.

Really?   I beg to differ, he works for the BBC and they're almost certainly not left wing. In fact, their bias has really been shown to be what it is these past few weeks.

That’s why I love the BBC .....the right think it is too leftist ....the left think it is too far right ....so in my book that means they have got it just spot on

My general view too...

Earlier in the week, I read a post on the BBC's "Have Your Say" message boards which denounced Nick Robinson and Andrew Neil as "typical BBC lefties" for having the temerity to want to ask Boris Johnson some vaguely serious questions.

Yes: the Nick Robinson who was President of the Conservative youth group, and the Andrew Neil who edited the Sunday Times and wrote for the Daily Mail...

Fun fact: Andrew Neil was editor-in-chief at Press Holdings which owned various publications including The Spectator. Editor of The Spectator at that time? One Boris Johnson...

FWIW, I believe Marr was technically a Maoist (now there's a word you don't hear anymore...) when he was a student at Cambridge. I doubt he's quite as extreme as that nowadays...

I remember reading, his nickname used to be Red Andy.

Have you ever actually watched their output?  their celebrity panel shows, their political shows, their news coverage?   they despise the working classes who voted for Brexit, they despise the Tory's too.

Yes I have and believe you me, there's loads of stuff that goes on that's never reported in the MSM

Some of the ordinary progs are fine. Their politics is so much biassed towards the right though

We'll have to agree to disagree here I think.  Their "comedy" panel shows are full of lefty (woke) metropolitan types who look down their noses at the rest of us.
