Fabulous news Fluffers!

I’m thinking of retiring in July ... although I will still have over three years to wait for my pension, and won’t get free bus travel ... but I’m tired and with a bit of belt tightening, might just be able to do it πŸ‘

Go for it Rexi ....life’s too short Mr B had to take early retirement 15 years ago because of a previous bout of ill health , and I fretted over how we would manage , but we did . And my best friend is now having to do the same thing ....but it’s amazing how with a little care you can make it work

Thanks for your good wishes everyone, and hope all goes well for you Rexi. Mr Fluffy Thing also took early retirement due to stress. He got a small job that we thought would see him through to normal retirement age, but it didn't work out and he ended up taking his works pension a few years early. It all worked out OK and a few weeks after I retire from work he'll get his government pension. So, with 3 pensions and my lump sum, we should be financially comfortable.

We still get the bus pass at 60 in Scotland and my elder sister (living in Poole) was most disappointed to discover that she won't get hers until she's 65 now!

Another 5 years until the state pension!

It’s just not right how they keep moving the goal posts for retirement pensions, is it EFFY?

Definitely not!

And a lot of it has to do with lack of foresight and creaming off fictitious 'surpluses!

It's August now, did you go for the retirement Rexi?

I’m off for the summer now, back to work on Sept 2, retire on Sept 20th. So very excited. I’m going to plan my Gap Year Ya (although that Damish one calls me Judith Chalmers atm!!!).

What plans have you got Fluffs?

I am 100% convinced we will win the Judicial Review and finally see our pension #backtosixty
