The neighbours are all looking at me as it's 10 C.
It's performance art - they'll never get me

You wanna watch they don't call out the RSPCA
I dream of my dogs regularly
Mandy bit me. She was a corgi. Tetanus the lot. Believe me guid gear comes in small bulk - no-one messed with her
@slimfern posted:Do I want to stay up late to maybe get the chance to see a green smudge ...nah...I don't think so.
How about you El?
It would be pointless me staying up late as it's probably too cloudy to see any stars let alone a green smudge
And there would be too much light pollution anyway

As you say, pointless.
I expect we'll be shown photos by the lucky few who do get a good view

No me neither El...but the wiki write up makes it sound something I might like to watch
What channel was it on Velvet?

Slim, it was on the Talking Pictures tv channel.
You can see it on Youtube,
By the way, playing a minor role, was Judi Dench in her feature film debut.

Good morning everyone
Clouding over here and forecast to stay cloudy.
Forecast to be cooler next week though. Some forecasters (not the BBC or the Met Office) forecasting a return to cold weather.
I hope everyone has a good day
"Crossroads" wasn't something I ever watched when it was shown on television many years ago. It was a soap set in a motel somewhere in the Midlands, There's a 3 part drama being made about the life of the lead actress:

I doubt if many people would know that for a time back in the 70s some of the exterior scenes were filmed at the Golden Valley Hotel on the outskirts of Cheltenham:

Odd short film by Alice Guy:

Film was called "Madame a des envies" (= Madame's cravings) and was made in 1907.
Morning El Hope your day is going well. I remember Crossroads , I used to quite like it , back in my youth .

The winning photo is quite something but none of the photos shown are of gardens as such.

The winning photo looks more like a painting to me...
Prefer the one with the bird
and the one with the coloured heathers
I've been looking into the accounting and theoretical tax aspects relating a client today. Going through the relevant accounting standard and the relevant documentation on the HMRC website and one of the clauses in the relevant taxation act.
It's something which relates to two of my clients but I'm standing down from the smaller one as I don't think it's wise to be acting from both and it's the smaller one which may get HMRC interested, the larger one is unlikely to be of interest to HMRC.
Can't go into details but there's nothing untoward about what this is about, just unusual. I had told the smaller client to get advice from another accountant ages ago.
