On Friday morning I posted here about BBC Four's Prom concert in the evening which was a performance of Hector Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique.

I recorded it and attempted to watch it last evening. What they did with it might have entertained those who were looking for some light frivolous entertainment. I was unimpressed. I was expecting something very different.

It’s awful when you are looking forward to something and they go and spoil it

Good morning everyone it's an overcast morning after an extremely cold night. They did forecast a few cold nights but I was still surprised at how cold!

Enjoy your day everyone

It seems that the Aurora Orchestra seem to do the same things with their other performances so they are something for me to avoid in future. The music itself was OK, it was all the other stuff which didn't work for me.

Welcome back Summer

It's been fairly quiet here. Got a husband & wife clients coming to see me around 4 to sign off their tax returns and another client dropping off their papers around 6.

Not many people would abseil down the Eagle tower in Cheltenham, but even fewer at the age of 90:

One of the tallest, possibly the tallest, building in Cheltenham. Used to be occupied by Eagle Star. Many years ago when a new gigantic computer was installed, the top of the tower had to be opened up and large cranes used to lift the computer to the top and then lowered down inside. That was the only possible way. I'm refererring to huge mainframe computers, not personal ones.

Many of the county's inhabitants (just under 40,000) aren't happy.

No prizes for guessing which county

Good morning everyone it's a little brighter this morning. The forecast for the week ahead is sunshine all the way. I hope they're right.

I hope your day of errands went well Yogi. That's an interesting choice Ros Vera Lynn songs. Should go down well at the coffee morning.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning everyone

Sunny here, cool at present though will warm up.

Last evening for about half an hour around 10 pm here I could hear the sound of a WW2 air raid siren coming from somewhere. Nothing on the local or national news about this. I suspect it was coming from the university campus not far away. Yesterday was the first day of the induction week for the new students so I think someone was playing tricks on them.

I hope everyone has a good day

BBC have announced that their ted button text service on television for news, sports, weather, travel etc will cease early next year.

Won't go down well with those who are without internet so can't get on the BBC website.

Amongst other ideas for electric cars needing to make sounds for safety reasons, Nissan has trialled a warning system called Canto that adds a choral element to the engine's whirr. So if you hear a moving car singing it could be that:

hate electric cars - so dangerous - there are a few near us and they are silent - so worrying - would have one if they made some sort of noise

Good morning everyone

Sunnt here and chilly enough for the central heating to come on.

Yogi, I'm glad your tiddler minding went well

Ros, as you say, those silent electric cars do need to have some noise coming from them

I hope everyone has a good day

That strange ad from Apple during Bake Off last evening with various sweets all over the place - I think it may be something to do with the code names they've used in previous versions but have dropped it for the new version. Could be wrong though.

Good morning everyone.

Cloudy with a forecast of breeze later.

I agree El and Ros about the silent electric cars, they need to find a way of making some noise.

Off to get my haircut this morning.

Have a good day, all
