2 600 year old religious statues, which used to be in the Church of St John Baptist in Cirencester, had to be taken down in 1963 due to safety concerns. But now no-one knows where they are.  So they are to be replaced once one of the 5 applicants has been selected to create new ones.

If any of you have ever been to Cirencester you will know the church as it's the one in the centre and could easily be mistaken for a cathedral.

El Loro

Good evening everyone

Not a day to remember for me sadly

More rubbish dumped in our small pool overnight. More emails to my local councillors and my MP. I had one reply so far saying that it will be sorted tomorrow and steps will be taken to make sure it doesn’t happen again. I’ll believe that when I see it

Not much more to say really

I can never understand why people dump rubbish. Just put it in a bin, you lazy toads!

I hope your emails force some action

The thing is Yogi, it was more like a van full rather a bin full 😑

Fly tipping - that’s even worse!!!

Is there any cctv around the park?

There isn’t Yogi. The park is getting a lottery grant of nearly 6 million pounds to do  new buildings and regenerate other parts of the park including the little pool. So it’s not going to be good for the wildfowl or the regeneration scheme if rubbish keep getting dumped in there, is it Yogi?’

Good morning all

Raining, up here.

Summer, I watched Strictly. There’s quite a few celebs I like so I’m hoping they can dance and last a while.

Sounds like you had a lovely weekend

El, there was talk of police enforcing a β€œno parking on the pavements” up here but,  it might actually cause more problems. With families often having three cars where I live, someone always has to park in the street and if they didn’t park half on the pavement, larger vehicles like the farmer’s tractor, local buses, fire engines, ambulances etc would struggle to get through.

I do appreciate the problems the pavement parking can cause for people with larger/double buggies and wheelchairs.

Off out with hubby, catch up later.

Yogi, I was aware that there was talk of such a pavement scheme up there. It's not too bad for pedestrians, other than those with a pushchair etc, if a vehicle is only slightly on the pavement. A different matter when the vehicle is covering 3 quarters of the pavment making it very tricky for pedestrians to get past.

Agreed Yogi and El

Have you been up to the pond today?

Three times today

The little pool has had all the rubbish moved from the edge. Looks like it has never been there

However, still floating debris on the pool near to the island. So another email went off to the parks councillor who got the rubbish removed this morning.

At the furthest the island is only 7 or 8 feet from the edge of the pool and at most it is only 3 feet deep. All it needed was an operative in fisherman’s waders and it would have been sorted
