Any of you got either of the statues mentioned in this BBC news article:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-...cestershire-49290461

They've been missing for some 80 years and used to be at the Montpellier Baths in Cheltenham until that closed down.

Although Cheltenham is Cheltenham Spa, the spas in Cheltenham dwindled throught fewer tourists being interested. One can still sample spa water at the Pittville Pump Room but that's not something I've ever done.

no worse luck EL

Four lawns, Moonie - that's quite a number, I've just the one

Two smaller lawns and one quite big one in the rear garden and one smaller one in the front garden

Just having a cuppa after going to the bank then the front lawn will be cut

And there was I thinking you were the mowing the lawns at the Raj Palace at Jaipur  Glimpses of them can be seen in this clip:

Evening all

Good day with the tiddlers. We made pancakes for breakfast - Summer will approve.  We managed to get to one of the big parks for a while but the rain came on. I agree with those who can feel a touch of autumn in the air.

El, I’ll check out the BHF pics

Moonie, well done on getting your lawns cut

Thanks Yogi

Don't be put off by the subject, the pictures aren't gruesome and some of them are amazing.

some of them are gorgeous EL very interesting the intricacy of pattern and illumination

Had to switch my energy tariffs today with British Gas as, although the exisiting ones go to the end of the month, the email from them said I had to do it by today. Gas price slightly higher, electricity price massive increase - overall just over 13% price increase in the last 2 years.

Posting this as a warning to anyone on a fixed rate tariff who only use electricity as when you come to renew you could be in for a shock (a 27% increase in my case)

As my smart meters are of the first generation, switching to another supplier is messy and time consuming. Second generation smart meters are supposed to be more able to be switched between energy providers.

Good morning a cloudy but dry start here. I hope you all slept well

Yogi, I highly approve! Any pancake party is a time well invested in, IMO

El, it pays to be savvy, well done on your research and I hope you get the best deals possible. I’m waiting on a generation 2 smart meter, the first wouldn’t fit in my electric box- thankfully! The electric companies are no longer allowed to fit generation 1’s, which is a new law that recently came into effect

~Sparkling Summer~

Summer, in due course my smart meters will get replaced but that's likely to be 7 years or so before that happens. Just as well for you that a generation 1 meter couldn't be fitted in

Moonie, the one good thing about the weather is that the test match at Lords due to start today may get so little play possible over the next 5 days so the chances are that England won't lose

I think that’s the one saving grace of this weather El

Moonie, the weather at Lords is so poor that England have yet to name which 11 of their players will play.

Moeen Ali is taking "a short break" from cricket for playing for Worcestershire who will support him.

The weather is looking good for an England draw El

Moeen hasn’t been up to his usual standards of late so it’s not surprising really.

Human-sized penguin lived in New Zealand around 60 million years ago.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-49340715

The Canterbury Museum is in Christchurch, New Zealand, not one of the museums in Canterbury in this country.

Link to an article on this on the museum website:
https://www.canterburymuseum.c...ra-north-canterbury/

That article includes a 3 d imaged model of the penguin standing next to a woman. That image can be moved around in all directions and can be zoomed in and out.

@Lori will want to see this.
