I doubt this will be done on Strictly Come Dancing:

That's a very brief clip from Fritz Lang's 1922 film. I could post a clip of the complete film but as it's just over 4 hours long, I doubt if anyone would want to watch it

I think it's safe to say that Dr Mabuse is unrelated to Oti and Mots as he was a fictional villain, a criminal mastermind.

I see that David Hedison, the American actor had died, he was 92. Although best known as Felix Leiter in a couple of James Bond films I remember him mainly from the American television series "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea". One of Irwin Allen's series and huge fun to watch when I was a teenager. The lead was Richard Baseheart and Hedison was second in command.

You'll be relieved to know that I'm not going to post that Hattons of London advert for their Queen Victoria 200th anniversary gold coin which they've been airing for the last couple of months. If you've ever seen it you might have heard music in the background whilst the man is talking. The music is in fact taken from  Handel's minuets section of his Music for the Royal Fireworks. Written in 1749 which was a mere 170 years before Victoria was born Here's the minuets section with some fireworks seen but not heard:

Evening all

Sunny and warm up here - not enjoying it atm.

Squiggle, I hope the humidity dropped in your area.

Ros, I enjoy day trips/weekends away as much as longer holidays - in fact, I think I prefer shorter trips.

El, I loved the music and the quiet fireworks

Twickers, I hope all is well with you

I wonder if Moonie has been up to the pond today, or if it was too hot?

Summer, I hope you’ve had a good day

The euphoria that England had for winning the cricket world cup recently has been totally and utterly destroyed this morning in the England v Ireland test match. England's batting has been destroyed by the Irish bowling. Such is the destruction that England needs to consider abandoning the Ashes test series due to start next week to avoid being humiliated even more.

Just as well that I've got some Irish ancestry

Summer, I hope that dental appointment goes as well as it can - You may need someone to drive you back afterwards as you could well be a bit shaky afterwards. If the tooth is removed you shouldn't go back to work today:

I’m in the waiting room now. I don’t think they’ll take any action today, they’ll probably assess it and make a plan for a further appointment

wish me luck gang!

Thank you I’m home now, with some antibiotics it’s called something like periceniculitis- a classic wisdom tooth flare up. They won’t refer for an extraction on the first complaint of it but if it reoccurs then they will. It’s in a tricky place so i’ll eventually need a radiographer to scan in so they can decide how best to pull it out.

Hopefully the medication will calm it all done though.

Why on earth do these teeth appear in midlife?? Lol

Summer, I hope the antibiotics help with the pain, until you can get the wisdom tooth removed

I like the idea of silent fireworks

Wow, that was a lot lot of lightning strikes, Moonie  I hope they didn’t do too much damage

El, that’s handy, having some Irish ancestry in light of the cricket result

Squiggle, I hope it’s nice and cool for you now

I’ve got the bedroom windows open and the ceiling fan on - and MrY went up the loft and got the fan on a stand, to put beside our bed in advance of tomorrow’s anticipated heatwave.

I hope you’ve all had a good day
