There's a new mountain in the Lake District. Miller Moss had been recorded at 609 m (1,998 ft) which was below the 2,000 ft requirement to be a mountain but it's been remeasured at 610.1 m (2,002 ft).

Shirley has just rung me again to say my ISP address has been compromised and my internet will be disconnected in 24 hours time unless I press 1 to speak to an advisor who will get my ISP address changed and my router amended.
As I wasn't disconnected either time Shirley rang me I'll take my chances and ignore her

Yogi, well done

Oddly enough, since Shirley has started ringing me, the number of times I get rung by someone from Microsoft/Windows/technical support has dropped. It's clealy a coincidence as I wouldn't want to imply that the Windows scammers are cutting costs by not having people wasting their time ringing people who know it's a scam and just concentrating on those who don't realise

I think you might be onto something, El.

*night owls* sweet dreams yogi

i hope youve all had a good day

El, that’s just it- everyone wants a holiday hair cut.. so we’re really busy. One of my colleagues is on holiday too, which makes it even busier for the rest of us... we’ll soon be back to normal

meanwhile, my mum is being really helpful and I’m enjoying having her around on a regular basis

what are you all doing this weekend?

~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone

Here it's a sunny morning and forecast to have quite a lot of rain from noon for the following 24 hours (not constantly raining, some quite light but also not light).

Summer, that explains it

Yogi, I'm glad your Dad's recovery is continuing

Ros, that Parker probe is due to be launched within the next hour. Assuming that's a success we won't get much in the way of news for some 7 years. As you say Jupiter is awesome.

I hope everyone has a good day

Moonie, I hope Brick Sullivan lets you off

(as a real piece of trivia, that's the name of the actor who played the policeman seen at the end of the Gene Kelly scene)

I was wondering there El

Where do you come up with these pieces of trivia from El?

The Singin' in the Rain sequence is one I've seen so many times over the years and I remembered that it ends with a policeman looking at Gene Kelly disapprovingly. He doesn't say anything but realises that Kelly isn't drunk so let's him go on. The policeman isn't listed in the film credits but is identified in the cast list on the IMDB site. So it's not a case of knowing these things but more where to look them up.

Moonie, in Hawaiian there are the 5 vowels each with a short pronounciation and a long one (shown with a line over the vowel) and there are just 7 consonants ((h, k, l, m, n, p, w). A consonant has to be followed by a vowel, so something starting with 'wh' for instance doesn't exist. That means that a word always ends in a vowel.

I’m glad I’ve got the channels back but hubby is still considering leaving Virgin when our contract is up.
